LIVE GAME Round 13 v Cowboys

Live Game Discussion
Sorry, but I deal in facts not theories. I know it hurts but until we make major changes in this club we will remain as feeder club.
Major changes like signing Luai, turuva, may and co?

Bringing in Richo and getting rid of Pascoe?

You think everything just happens overnight eh? That we could go out and sign 20 players for the squad in one off season?

I live in reality, where real change takes time..not fantasy where it happens over night

Can't believe you just go on about past history. Game is over. Have you got anything constructive to offer?
I asked if it's a rule..

So verifying that for myself and others, i consider constructive. Because it's the first I've heard of this rule, ever.

The Roosters cop it more than anyone. They deal with it and win. We get caught up in it and usually fall apart. This year has been different but a lot more improvement is required in how we deal with adversity.

The Roosters are heavily penalised because they play such a physical style. Guys like Radley deserve all the punishment they get.

Look they weren't well hidden.. But I genuinely believe it's a different outcome , 9 minutes into a game if it's one of the influential sides.. say the storm. That's my take on it
Reverse the situation.
We are hammering their line, but can’t get any momentum as one of their experienced players is purposefully stuffing us up with illegal ruck play. He does it 3 times in 3 sets .
Are you telling me you wouldn’t be screaming for him to be sent?

Have you seen it in any other games ?
Its the first I've heard or it and seen it applied...

I have seen it before yes… but ive also seen other times when a warning was provided after the second time …. That part must be at the referees discretion …

How about a first grade coach to start with. Not an apprentice?

Maybe don’t drive too close to the cliff to begin with
what ? Now you’re just arguing a stupid point . You’ve admitted to me in the past you’ve never played the game , and here’s where I’m going to educate you. You’re coached this way . You’re taught how to lie in the ruck how to control players , it used to be turning them on their back , now it’s turning them on the thier back , getting ahold of thier levers , wrestling moves , moving thier body into a position so they take as long as humanly possible to play the ball . The whole idea is to slow the ruck down … “to go close to the edge of the cliff” . If you don’t do it , we saw what happened tonight . The cowboys put 30 on us.
You have to do it , to win . The players know , the fans know and so do the refs … which is my whole point about the social contract within a game between the players and officials .

Yes and no.
They are very physical and deserve a lot of it no doubt.
They also get penalised a lot on suspicion.
Remember how bad our discipline was last year? They were almost worse than us by the end of the season.
There was a massive gap back to the third worst.

3 times in 5 tackles...
Id want it yes..
But I want alot of things I don't get.
9 minutes into the game, based on games Ive seen previouslyz the referee calls the captain out and warns them.

This wasnt late in the game.. it was the 9th minute

I have never discussed my playing career with anyone here so stop making shit up …

My coaching instructions would be unless the game is in the balance, do not give the referee any opportunity to put you in the sinbin …particularly through giving away repeated infringements…. Concede the try if you have to …. That’s only 6 points … not 14

20 now? didn’t you use this same argument an hour ago using 10 as your figure?

The game was orchestrated. Luai was right second infringement is a penalty. He deliberately gave it away and was sin binned for a mythical 3rd infringement. Douihei was also a penalty not a professional foul. Turuva was tackled without the ball which would have seen us on the attack against 12.

Maybe there was a warning pre game?
That happens a lot.

Also, not saying it's his fault, but is there any game we've ever played that screams Benji Marshall more than this? This is vintage Benji 2006-2013: look terrible and totally out of it only to produce miraculous comeback and then fall just short and lose it in the end... Benji must be running some complicated training sessions and tactics to get them to so perfectly replicate it.

The issue isn’t that he deserved to go , the issue is was he given a warning prior to that , of which luai ignored ? Was luai given the courtesy ? He definitely wasn’t . It’s the definition of a “gotcha” penalty. And ultimately I don’t think Sutton does that if he knew how big of an effect it would have on the outcome . He’s the game managing , close game ref .

Assuming Skelton is a starter over Staines, we have back up in Makasini (shortly), Luke Luaali , Staines. I think backline holds its own. Thrown in May and the backlines done.

In the halves we have Mason and Latu fighting for 6. Falls if we get injuries.

Hooker is covered.
TDS/ Hope/ Haywood. We can lose one and still be solid there.

In the forwards, Seyfarth is better playing direct, off the bench. Hunt is good for impact only. Twal same boat at Seyfarth. KPP with his 40 tackles a game and direct running should add a lot. I think that leaves us a lock forward and front rower short. I think Front row and lock should be our priorities (and of course, getting KPP here within the next few weeks).
Yeah see it similar. Right edge second row, then lock top two priorities for me. Twal back to the bench and seyfarth #18.

Could upgrade left centre but also think we can make the 8 with Douehi there too.

There is a stats man on this forum. I will ask him whoever he is becuase i cant remember to see if we have ever won a game with Jaradd Sutton with the whistle in hand. He shut us out in ths 1st half, we made mistakes yes but when we got a roll on he put the pea away. He should have given us atleast 5 or 6 repeat sets and 3 penaltys to us. Who ever you are stat man please check. Thankyou
