Obviously we can’t outright ignore Campbelltown but if we aren’t winning at Campbelltown from 28 onwards, we have no chance of finals from that point onward.Careful. Some get upset at reality. There's a medical condition for that. But they call it the future.
Why? It's got nothing to do with Western Suburbs. The Magpies were an inner west club like the Tigers. No need to play games out there. Doesn't mean you ignore juniors.Obviously we can’t outright ignore Campbelltown but if we aren’t winning at Campbelltown from 28 onwards, we have no chance of finals from that point onward.
You can blame HBG for the fact that we’re playing majority of our cup home games there. 11 home games and 9 at Lidcombe. We do have to fix our record at Campbelltown but it is still concerning that our last 15 we’ve only won 3.One of the significant challenges for us a club and for Benji as a coach is to make sure that Campbelltown is our fortress.
It’s no use ignoring the fact that our record is better at Leichhardt Oval. There’s a better atmosphere there and the players rise every time we’re there.
But it’s not our growth area.
I really don’t know how to fix it exactly apart from knowing that it’ll require a concerted, multifaceted effort to turn it around.
Tbh it would probably help if we didn’t play our state cup games out at a Lidcombe Oval, had Wests Tigers teams throughout all grades playing there regularly and stopped this ridiculous nonsense of playing in away jerseys at our home games because our board members are too pea-hearted to watch us play in orange.
Bringing Wests Macarthur back into the fold probably wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
Regardless it’s a conundrum we need to resolve if we ever want to make the finals let alone be successful in the long term.
Does anyone know who this guy is?You just talk shit mate. I’ve never seen a single comment of substance from you. Seems like you came home from your job as a stop go lady to someone from Campbelltown nailing your mrs
Yeah but they’ll claim not playing in the area is also ignoring the area. I agree it is possible to do that, but I don’t think we can outright just ignore the stadium. Why? See enough to know you hold a massive grudge for whatever reason. At the end of the day the club has to do more if they want to engage. The 12000 there today had no bearing on the injuries and poor mistakes we hadNever seen you on here to be fair.
I’m just a bloke calling out your constant bullshit. Same shit every year from you, boring AFDoes anyone know who this guy is?
Can someone vouch for him? Or help him?
Please...
I actually think wing is Toa’s spot. Hes played pretty well. He doesn’t have blinding pace but I think defensively it makes his life a lot easier. Centre is not easy. That will be Averillos role next year.If I’m Benji next round I’d put To’a back at Centre and have either Skelton or Laulili on the wing. I would have the other on the bench and Maka if possible in Cup for the remainder of the season.
Yeah I get where you’re coming from, but Averillo is next year. Still gotta focus on this year and with Herbert out I really don’t want to put Turuva back at Centre or Maka either. To’a is probably our best bet for now but I can’t deny his defence was better on the wing.I actually think wing is Toa’s spot. Hes played pretty well. Was it only 12000? Looked bigger than that on the TV. While I agree the 12000 didn’t have a result on the injuries or our mistakes, we won’t get even close to that number if the club can’t win there. Regardless of how you feel towards that guy on here, you can’t deny 3 from 15 is very poor mate. If we’re committing 7 or 8 games from 2029 there and still can’t win, the club will struggle having to rely on winning our LO games and away games just to even have a chance of making the 8.See enough to know you hold a massive grudge for whatever reason. 12000 is exactly what’s wrong with the joint, first time in ages we’re in contention for the finals and it’s half full, never been but on tv it always looks and sounds absolutely soul less and like an away game, one year against St George I was certain we were outnumbered by dragons fansSee enough to know you hold a massive grudge for whatever reason. Mate I’m devastated about our record at Campbelltown. I have three kids aged 10-5 it’s always a big outing for our family, all three generations. We really need to play better here but I don’t know what to say we all keep turning up but the Tigers don’t win? All I know is I see first hand the hard work that is happening in the community from grassroots to schoolboy rugby league and to see someone shitting on that I won’t cop. I’ll be honest mate I thought the crowd would’ve been better today12000 is exactly what’s wrong with the joint, first time in ages we’re in contention for the finals and it’s half full, never been but on tv it always looks and sounds absolutely soul less and like an away game, one year against St George I was certain we were outnumbered by dragons fans
Hard to embrace it when it’s a struggle to win there. I’m sure there’s a lot of work being done on the junior side which I’m all for, but the club has also got to win for the negativity around Campbelltown to change. I hope for the clubs sake it does change so it improves the whole area. But fans won’t embrace an area they can’t win at, that’s just human nature.Mate I’m devastated about our record at Campbelltown. As in higher number attendance? If so yeah it’s a bit of a downer, but I hope the next crowd gets to experience a win, I might be one of them.I’ll be honest mate I thought the crowd would’ve been better today
Is it the chicken before the egg? Wests Magpies/Ashfield never embraced us, Wests Tigers have certainly never embraced us. We are meant to sell out the joint every week to ensure that they turn up and have a go in front of us?Hard to embrace it when it’s a struggle to win there. The attendance should’ve been higher but the early Saturday games have always been tricky for people. The atmosphere was really flat today but I’ve been saying for years the MC at Campbelltown puts me to sleepAs in higher number attendance? I do think Wests Ashfield certainly has a role in that part. Ever since Wests MacArthur sold them their ownership and Balmain going broke forcing them to sell 40% to stay afloat, I think all their mainly concerned with is keeping their games at Lidcombe, and remaining as Magpies in the cup side. I do think they need to do more on their end, but I highly doubt they will.Is it the chicken before the egg? Wests Magpies/Ashfield never embraced us, Wests Tigers have certainly never embraced us.
