Don’t understand TDS not getting a run. Other than that I can’t agree with blaming Benji for the loss - perhaps he picked Mason instead of Latu, but there were valid reasons for that.
I come back to my halftime post questioning the difference between this team and those of the last few seasons. In the past we are smashed by 40 plus but this season we are still in the game. I see a group that is united and trying their best we are just short a little quality in certain positions. By position player for player the Raiders have us all over the park.

Tonight is a symptom of a decision made a few years ago to give Benji the top job based on zero evidence.

The sad thing is I think there's a coach there somewhere but with no apprenticeship he will never know. Similar to him as a player having to play 7 because Sheens had no idea. Very rare a guy has two careers capped by the same moron both times, but here we are.

The try saver on Luai was a hip drop AGAIN.

The foot out on the 40/20… the penalty against Bula for the non contesting run through.

Things don’t go our way. But we lose because we have a few reserve grade standard players that let us down in big moments. We lose because we don’t have the slick combinations because our team have been disrupted.

As frustrating as it was, the second half fight was extraordinary. The team looked happy. Latu is STRONG, zippy and has decent hands.

We are building. I truly believe that. We are three players away from a competitive team.

Which player is on restricted minutes in the NRL? Just name one that’s not at our club.

There might not be one currently but there are players that have done it. Look at the history that turbo has had - maybe if they were smarter with him he wouldn’t have had some an injury prone career.

I can understand it’s frustrating but if I was coach I’d 100% have him on restricted minutes as it’s better in the long-term. As long as we don’t win the spoon this year I think Benji stays and we go in to next year ready.

I’d say Latu did enough to finally earn himself a starting spot. Time to play 80 mins. He looks likely every time he runs the ball. More dangerous ball runner than Galvin.

Latu is better at everything than Galvin imo except not being injured. Faster, heavier, stronger, plays straighter, more sleight of hand, better runner. Liked by his teammates.

Our attack is warming nicely. We're not even a single game into the likely longer term halves pairing. They just put 5 line breaks, 2 tries, multiple held ups/short efforts, all in one half of footy.

I think execution is woeful. Shape needs much more work. Bula needs to work on his timing.

But most of that will come with time now that we appear to have settled on a spine moving forward. Our biggest challenge looks just keeping them on the park.

He spent the whole off season as first receiver down the right / second off the ruck , with Galvin being the sweeping player .
It gets real clunky real quick when he goes down the left .

You can tell he’s a natural half with power, speed, silky passing and great defence. Just needs to work on his kicking game which will come with time. He is far ahead of Galvin as are about 5 others young’s halves playing rn.

This Galvin glazing blows my mind when I watch kids like Katoa, Strange, TMM and ofc Latu

Almost Luai’s best game of the year. Kicking was on point. If he starts putting in more of those performances, we’ll win a few more games before the season is out. I’m just keen to see him and Latu from this point.

The club coaching staff in particular felt he was better than Galvin injury and attitude were the handbrake. I hear it’s the same with TDS and Haywood. Sounds like Api will get extended and TDS gone.
