They probably have the best depth in the competition though hahaOh really? I didn’t know that! This is looking better with each passing minute 😂 We might actually have a shot.
Our left edge Sione Fainu, Jarome Luai, Taylan May & Star To'a v their right edge Kule Finefuiaki, Brad Schneider, Jack Bostock & Jamayne Isaako.
Apart from Fainu who isn’t an edge player it’s not too catastrophic, it’s the other side with Farnworth that gives me nightmaresOur left edge Sione Fainu, Jarome Luai, Taylan May & Star To'a v their right edge Kule Finefuiaki, Brad Schneider, Jack Bostock & Jamayne Isaako.
This is spot on. I remember the year before they came into the comp the media was absolutely hammering them about what a terrible squad they'd built, and I was thinking really? It looks pretty decent to me.They probably have the best depth in the competition though haha
Peter O’Sullivan’s finest work as a recruitment guru was building that Phins squad. This is spot on. I remember the year before they came into the comp the media was absolutely hammering them about what a terrible squad they'd built, and I was thinking really? It looks pretty decent to me.
From there, they've just gone from strength to strength, to the point where I look at their bench and think about all the players I'd love to pinch, let alone their starting squad. I think they're the gold standard for expansion teams.
That said, I hope we do a number on them this weekend.
Luai can run rings around Schnieder & Kuli with his tail up after last week. What are you thinking ? 🤔
As long as Herbert can hit & stick on Herbie. Herbert is strong & comes up fast so just need to be wary of Herbie's footwork & bump off. Tino will jam in hard too on Herbie too I'd imagine. Our right edge defence is the biggest concern and always has been, Herbie will run riot out there if we don't improve. Can Taylan defend on the right if needed?
They must think we’re pushovers resting all these guys.So Cobbo, Flegler, Hammer, Kotoa and I read Plath all out?
I could see Makasini in to left wing with Toa shifted to right centre. The way Isaako was returning the ball last week I think we could really use Makasini's bigger body to nulify that. Isaako might shatter Toa's body otherwise. As long as Herbert can hit & stick on Herbie. Herbert is strong & comes up fast so just need to be wary of Herbie's footwork & bump off. The difference being is the dolphins have chosen to rest their players, only Katoa is injured but it’s a minor knee injuryThere's a lot of talk about our injuries, but they will be without 1/2 of there spine with no hammer or katoa (ironically the 2 best players at the club). If the spine is as important as it's made out to be, then we are in with a big chance as our spine is much better ... especially if AD comes back.
Outside of the spine, they are also down Cobbo & Averillo in the backs & Flegler + Plath in the forwards.
If you look at the potential individual matchups, I think we are better off. It will all come down to the teams attitude and the bench rotation. If we win this, I think we make the 8 barring a continued horror injury run.
