We have our best available forward pack. Guys like Pole & Sione are effective in those 'middle battles' & should test the less mobile Canberra middles. And Api is a danger in and around guys like Papali'i, Horsburgh & Tapine because they are not lateral movers. The strength of Canberra is churning forward & striking wider. They are a Temu version of the Dogs, with potentially better mental attributes.Good thinking, but worried that we will loose if it does get played down the middle.
Mainly because Melbourne wiped us out from the middle. Canberra do have strong men and if Ricky decides to send Papalii, Tapine and those big guys at us, it's only Terrell who can really make trouble for them.
Spread it out wide, then relies on Turuva and Skelton getting past Xavier and Canberra's wingers which isn't happening.
I wonder if Api can outstep them. Starling is a good hooker, but it will be tough.. Will Luai even play after Origin?
Latu coming in & playing around the middle could cause them some issues. Doesn't mean I think Latu is a #13, but having him attack through the meat of it, might have Canberra's middles struggling.
The real test is just not letting them get the ball out to where Kris, Savage, Weekes etc can burn the slower Tigers outside backs.
Probably not given Heath Mason enough recognition either. If he can also attack around the middle, it might be a bit of a party.
