LIVE GAME Round 17 vs. Roosters

Live Game Discussion
Maybe … would have been better to take the tackle and hand it over … he shouldn’t be kicking

Yeah, take the tackle so we can tackle softly and concede another 60 metre set and a threatening attacking kick from them. He did the right thing and played a 5th tackle option. We got caught on the last heaps, and unlike teams who employ that tactic successfully we have no line speed or strength in the tackle to make that play work.

well … the result of giving them a 7 tackle set was not touching the ball again for 10 minutes and down 16-0

We were bullied tonight they are a miles better team with a far superior roster, we all knew that before the game. The game panned out how it was supposed to but we could have shown a bit more fight, we really weren't up for it from the get go.

At least @Tucker 's discipline spreadsheet will be looking good tomorrow!
It’s no surprise that when we play a side that runs rampant our discipline goes out the window. We need our spine to slow the game down when we are being pumped. Kick for touch. Anything to afford a breather to those struggling. Most of our big charge weeks come from games we are being run over in.

Except for the Terrell May try which was Sezer’s one on one miss and he probably should have got help from Porter and then the Tedesco try when we were down to 11 men, the Roosters didn’t carve through our middle at all. We were generally hitting hard in the middle and the Roosters knew they had a massive advantage in size and speed out wide, that’s where they hurt us continually.
We know Doueihi is prone to the odd defensive miss, but he is much more of a danger when running the ball than anyone else in our 1-7 so you would plan around covering for his occasional defensive issues.

They didn’t carve our middle. They won it though and rolled up field pretty effortlessly through the edges.

I didn't mind the kick. He just got the weight wrong. We've seen a bit of skill from him at times. Just small glimpses but I think he's going to develop into more than just a power/ running threat.

Not forgetting we had more early chances to score points than what they had and each time it amounted to nothing.
Sure our halves need to do better, but another key position is meant to assist and play a key role in us scoring points, this position again hardly touched the ball and was generally a deer in headlights when we were attacking the Roosters goal line.

There is an old saying that you shouldn’t do something during a game that you don’t practice at training…I get the feeling he isn’t at Concord working on his grubber kicks into the in goal before or after training .. hence the extra weight on it this evening

It’s not his first go at it during games. Last week it worked.

geez man … I reckon the standard of the games has rarely been better … although the weather affected a lot of the games this week… the Knights v Eels was great though
Agree the weather didn’t help,
But did you see the Bulldogs V Sharks and Cowboys V Panthers games.
5 hit ups for a kick
Absolutely riveting 🧐

Swap around and have the Roisters 1-7 playing for the Wests Tigers and who wins tonight’s game ?
No chance the Roosters win if this happened.

if he has the ok from the coach to do it all good … if he doesn’t the coach should be telling him not to do it… I’ve seen guys get dragged for similar … however that won’t happen to him because he has been our best player all year..
