LIVE GAME Round 2 versus Eels

Live Game Discussion
Missed the last 10 minutes (will watch shortly), but the effort from everyone was outstanding.

For the first 20 or so minutes it was clear Parramatta were running harder and playing with intent. We also looked to be struggling to find out fluency in attack again. In previous years I believe we would have crumbled and let them through for a couple of tries. I had the feeling we just needed to weather the storm and once we got in the flow we had the better team. Parra just don't have enough talent at the moment.

Couldn't name a player that played poorly, but some were standouts again. May was unbelievable and, if he continues to play like this most weeks, he's the next best thing to Payne Haas. Both wingers were fantastic and really provide what we've missed for years. Bula is so smooth and talented and is a real asset. Toa was a handful; let's hope he can find consistency. Luai took more control and, despite doing nothing overly outstanding, the team looked more cohesive because of it. Galvin played more within himself, particularly once the game settled. Hunt played well and is another point of difference compared to our previous year's teams.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was how solid everyone looked in defense for the bulk of proceedings. This can be at least partially attributed to Parramatta's lack of top talent, but hopefully it's also a shift in the overall defensive soundness of our side.

Always thought Toa has a bit of class and he showed it today
Our last ditch goal line defence was fantastic .
Parra won the pen count and the repeat set count and we repelled them time and time again .
Great day free food and free drink ( was to me anyway)
We now have a good footy team
Just hope we can keep them on the park
After the game I noticed Bird with his knee wrapped in ice and Bula with a slight limp
2 things we suffered from last year was a clunky attack and weak goal line defence well it seems we've fixed that and in stiffling heat
Really hard to do the 3,2,1 today as so many deserve praise !

Where the Bula haters at? He was phenomenal today. Engaged the line every time he ran it.
Also - Terrell May played 65 minutes in that heat, clocking in with 176 meters, 3 offloads and 43 tackles. In 2 games he’s shown more heart in the black and gold than utoikamanu ever did. Good riddance.

highlight of the game was in the second half when we held them out for 6 sets on our line. Grant atkins did all he could to get them over the line and back into the game but the boys showed incredible resilience in the heat. Sensational effort by the lads today. Super proud of them all.

Finally, shoutout Starford toa. Dropped the ball early but was flawless for the rest of the game with some courages, tough tackles and some super nice runs up the touch line.

UP THE TIGS
Who are these mythical Bula haters i see in every second comment tonight? The guy has been given glowing reviews week in week out since he first played.

Why’d @tigermate go quiet as soon as we started winning & scoring points? almost like he’s hoping for Benji to fail at this point.
Lol….

I’m not going quiet

We played a Parra team without moses

If Parra scored early they may have had the momentum that we had

We played ordinary!!!

If you watch the bulldogs or the raiders or the storm - they run crisp fast lines

We were clunky … and scored from broken play …

We played like the tigers of benjis era.

Can score flukey tries but never look like a machine like Penrith or other teams.

I’ll give Benji the benefit of the doubt - but 5th tackle options were ordinary, the first 25mins was ordinary, and we played the worst team in the comp.

But the effort was good… hope they start to click

I’m praying the benji succeeds.

But don’t think after one 60 minute performance that everything changes.

Let’s see if they back up again and again and again.

Great to see Luai and Galvin linking up a lot more this week. Made a big difference to the attack

TDS coming on and attacking tired defences is really handy. Made a lot of big runs targeting lazy markers

Royce Hunt another great impact player off the bench, love the kickoff runs!
Don't want to be critical of your post ...but I thought it was good to see Galvin not crowd Luai so much

We beat the worst team in the comp, I’m enjoying that for what it is..
