Live Game Discussion
Tigers hammered on the field
Tigers now hammered off the field by the MRC
Douehi - shoulder made contact with the head ( 1 match )
Fair enough but I reckon there was probably another 6 incidents
Where some shoulder met someone's head but we are not popular
Twal - contrary conduct ( $1500 fine ) fair enough but Twally - tell us what
Jaemon Salmon said to you ? Expect it was foul
Latu - dangerous tackle ( 2 matches ) THIS IS WRONG
there was no lifting motion it was an attempted legs tackle that went wrong .It was an accident !!!!
Ok bring in a rule banning low tackles like you have for high tackles
This is ridiculous. Glamour players would not have been charged
But to the MRC - you are biased towards some clubs and against others
How about INTEGRITY ( was the bunker ref the one with the gambling problem

Close it down, sell the so-called Centre of Excellence at Concord to the other perennial lovers, Football Australia so they can waste it, Dump all the club's superstars & shift the license to the new 2nd NZ club.
I could even agree with that right now.

Be interested to know the comparison between our club and others on suspensions given this season. From a cursory glance our players seem to cop one or two weeks most times, most other clubs players (apart from 1 or 2 notables) usually just get fined.

Classic example Nathan Cleary Pre season Rd 3 vs Tigers
A charging leaping shoulder smashing the head
Commentators at the time thought 2-3:matches but NO
MRC thought better an $1800 fine as it was Cleary ! The games most elite player .This MRC simply give value judgements but thru different lenses depending on who it is !
Remember Api - 3 matches for a hip drop ,Well today a Titan was binned for a hip drop that was at least as bad ! Bet its not 3 matches probably 0 matches

I don’t think there’s been a suspension for a hip drop since Api’s, so I wouldn’t think the Titans player will be suspended, maybe a fine. It’s the inconsistency that gets me.

I know some players have a worse record than others and are more likely to get suspended for longer, but earlier in the season serial offender Radley got let off 2 or 3 times for obviously dangerous tackles. No sin bin, despite 3 indiscretions in the same game. He definitely should’ve been suspended at the time for at least one indiscretion, but he was completely exonerated for all 3 charges.

The tackle that put Tom Dearden out of the game for 2 months wasn’t even penalised on the field at the time! Sure people can argue that the tackle was an accident, but a lot of hip drops or dangerous tackles have been deemed as accidental yet they are penalised and players put on report because the player was injured and had to leave the field. Why not in that case? Where is the consistency in all that?

You are wrong in your assessment of the Latu tackle.

So they say the Deardon tackle was an accident
So was The Latu tackle .When the defender lifts the legs its obviously not an accident but in Latu tackle no such lift was involved
Get some guts Benji - fight the Latu charge !!
What's the difference 2 or 3 matches

Not helped by Klein in the bunker yesterday.

Benji has no idea.
Look we’ll never know the extent of all the reasons our season has regressed to this point. But ultimately, the buck stops with Benji for all football decisions … Luai, selections, recruitment, preparation, interchange rotation, game stategy etc etc etc.

Now I have said many times, our team has too many LOW IQ players. Unfortunately I have come to the realisation that the players are an extension of our coaching. Our club is floundering with too many LOW IQ decisions in the football dept.

Benji is not going anywhere and he is too proud a man to give up this early. But he needs someone he trusts to tell him he needs to surround himself with assistants who bring what he lacks.

A relevant example is the Broncos of 2023 with Kevin Walters as coach. After they collapsed in 2022 losing 5 of their last 6 games, to miss the finals, Walters sacked attacking coach & club old boy Terry Matterson. Incoming was Lee Briers from England, a strategic mind, who transformed their attack. And Broncos came close to winning a premiership.

Yes different contexts but the right people alongside the coach can be transformational.

We missed the start big time, they came out of the blocks fast and played quickly around the ruck and we couldnt keep up, we were buggered.

This is often because of attitude, and Bula not fielding that kick was terrible, it just showed how unprepared we were.

The second half was better but still having trouble with our attack.

I though Maka showed a little bit of grit and liked Roberts & Latu, praying they come good.

Overall, we have some attitude, tactics and player problems, the whole lot.
Luai has has bigger all to work with since Fainu and May were injured .. The coaching staffs refusal to put a centre that can run a hole or a second rower that can pass it to the centre and our pedestrian attack of 5 hut ups off the dummy half meant the defence compressed and we had no strike , threat or variation .. we have offers nothing in attack since than may got injured and we stone cold refused to bring anyone in from anywhere ..
