LIVE GAME Round 21 v Raiders

Live Game Discussion
You know what though, I remember so clearly supporting the old Balmain sides of the late 90s and they often tried so hard every week. Usually they just didn't have the quality, but you could see them fight, guys like Senter, Buckets, Stimson, Benny G, Shane Walker, Jason Lowrie.

It's not that there weren't the odd 40-point losses but often oppositions had WAY better rosters and I could at least admire a good amount of fight from the Tigers, especially at home. We had basically zero strike power; anything positive was all effort.

This 2026 side doesn't have that excuse. There are some kids but the talent and athletic ability in the roster is much higher than those old Balmain teams. Yeah you get bad decisions but the test of character is defending the bad calls, not dropping your head.

I can respect the fight when you don't have so much ability, but I cannot respect the lack of fight when there is so much ability in this side. We saw it only a few months ago beating these same sides quite well.

I would like old West Boy Shane Flanagan to come in to help Benji he had alot of close games last year alot of fight and I think an old head would help him

Just watched a delayed recording. So predictable after the week that was. No less disappointing though. Watching Luai, the fact that we can’t defend our errors, he cost us three times from bad passing and poor kicking choices. I’m sure now that he was a bad buy and delivers little. Despite Douehi’s poor decision to bail on this game, maybe he is right. Why play the guy who is leaving? Still Douehi was in the run on team. He could have still played his part. Such an unnecessary distraction.

We give away field position far too easily from penalties and set restarts and give up points almost every time. If I was putting money on it I’d win most times. I say it every year but I’ve had enough now. I’m shifting my enthusiasm to the Dolphins for the remainder.

I can't. Play where the coach puts you.

It's the mentality of player-first that gets us in trouble all these seasons. And I'm not to say that Doueihi doesn't try hard, because he does, but he is not immune to the lack of output.
Im over Douhie, which was poor form in anyones opinion
Coaching staff add absolutely nothing..consistent with their histories. We are a total basket case as a consequence
So the price to retain existing players like the faimas just keeps going up.
And Bunjis buddies get extremely well paid for being just that, and get to pick up their kids from school because were a family club blah blah
Theres no business model there
Someone needs to break this nexus..new CEO already on the back foot..not easy for him...but this will make or break him
Benji and his sycophants need to go.They add nothing!
Id take a 2 yr gamble on Cheika, who is at least demanding and doesnt need to surround himself providing jobs for buddies
Were a public embarassment

I don't think anyone liked Luai

Then we did because he spoke a big game.
Then he showed us again who he really is.
Now we all dislike him again and remember why we did in the first place.

3 good games in a Tigers jersey.
He is on the list with Matt Ballin, Adam Blair and Braith Anasta.
Yeah bloody oath. I’ve been saying it the whole time he has been here.
Average player kissed on the dick by being so fortunate to come through with he guys he did.

Kids alright on a cup deal, learning his trade.

It's the same thing, every year though.
We find ourselves saying, we simply don't have the cattle.

Repeating the mistakes of years past.
It's infuriating.
And the reson for that is we pay way to much for mediocrity
U think Bula and May were almost $million players today??

At this point i'm picking dooey at 6, twal and seyfarth for effort and KPP given early season form and the rest I really don't know.... bula looked horrendous out there again today, completely out of position, terrible hands and poor defensively and our forwards and outside backs had nothing.

Imagine three months ago when everyone was sweating on Bula, thinking we’d be here with him. I mean, he didn’t even give us the courtesy of waiting another year to half arse it. He did it the moment the ink on the new contract dried. That’s cold.
