Well wasn't that enjoyable watching "Slimy" take the game by the scruff of it's neck and game manage it for a memorable Eels win.

I am glad he was kicking - because if he wasn't, I don't think I would have known he was in the team. When the going gets tough the "Slimy" goes missing .....

AS USUAL....the little runt is a pretender.

Give me the Dally M half of 2018 any day.... Go Luke!!!!!

Hey, he handles the occasion.....apparently

More himself I'd say GNR.

Agree or disagree, I don’t care. But if you can show me where I’m wrong and show me the instances where Broncos were knocked out of contention because of a dud call, I’ll be happy to admit I’m wrong.

I don't want to disagree, but I'm certainly not on board with the conspiracy theory.

For one, I certainly didn't think McCullough should have been binned. That was potentially a much bigger call than any of the others mentioned. If Parra had been on - which they simply weren't - they would have nailed them.

I may be a poor judge but Parra didn't deserve to win the game - as much as I wanted them to.

I’ve seen many comments articulating that Moses has gone ahead of Brooks. Not for mine. Brooks is made of tough stuff, Moses is a coward.

It’s a shame but I agree. This Eels team is no joke Paulo, Mau, Brown, Jennings, Sivo, Fergo, Gutho, Blake. If the Tigers can get talent around Brooks he is good enough to challenge. We just don’t have the cattle.

Sorry - wasn’t directing the agree comment to you directly - more general. And I’d love for my theory to be wrong

I don’t think he should have been binned either. This thread would have screamed blue murder had that been a Parra player been binned for that.

@voice_of_reason poor judge, it is. Refs up to their eyeballs in this game. Sin bin benefited Donkeys anyways hahahahaha

Brandy made a good comment regarding Moses TRY assists saying it's great that he has 29 however 21 have been from kicks and they tend to dry up at some point..especially against the better sides..

21 try assists from kicks to Maikah Sivo.

Taking off my black and gold glasses:

Parra defence was terrible. The misses on Boyd's run in the 1st half were appalling.

Klein was OK, it was the linesman who ruled on the Fergo no-try. I actually thought Parra got the rub of the green

Forget blockers for the FG, Parra had them pinned on their own 40 with 1 tackle left. Their poor defence cost them the game.

Moses was terrible. Just handing off unders all game like he didn't want to get his shirt dirty. Missed a couple of goals which would have won the game.

Fifita is head and shoulders the best young forward in the game.

Mate I can cop all you say. I agree - parra had enough opportunity to win and the game was won due to some individual brilliance. All good.
BUT
A dud call before half time led to a dud penalty giving broncos 2 undeserved points
Then a dud call robbed parra of a try - 4 points, maybe 6.
SO
Yet again, crucial calls (mistakes) went Brisbane’s way helping them incredibly get to a point where they win.

Now I could stomach this if it ever went the other way. It doesn’t. Ever. So why not? Why do we see year after year this bloody favoured team sneak into the eight on the back of 50/50 calls or worse. If it was law of averages surely they would fall at some stage. This never happens.
Why?
Because TV is not real. All reality shows are manufactured to maximise viewership. This practice happens in NRL but to a far lesser degree. TV broadcasters pay ridiculous money to broadcast the game. They want maximum viewership. Take Brisbane out of the 8 and a huge Queensland market turns their tv’s off. Broadcasters can not afford for this to happen and as a result - well see my above theory.
Agree or disagree, I don’t care. But if you can show me where I’m wrong and show me the instances where Broncos were knocked out of contention because of a dud call, I’ll be happy to admit I’m wrong.

Baloney and pure selection bias. There is absolutely no way that refs are intentionally influencing the outcome of games or going into matches with pre-conceived ideas about who'd they'd prefer to win. If that was the case, it would eventually be exposed and the whole competition would collapse in on itself.

You are just cherry-picking certain moments that appear to support a pre-conceived idea you have.

Your last paragraph - "show me where I am wrong" - actually, the burden on you is to prove your theory correct, because you are the one who proposed the theory. You've got 2 instances of perceived bias, which is a very weak sample size.

Now if you had many many matches over many seasons, either attributed to all refs or specific refs, then perhaps you'd have a case. But you don't, you just get all riled up when Broncos get a penalty. Forget that Broncos had a played sin-binned by Klein, forget that Parra had several opportunities to win it independently of ref's decisions, forget that Moses missed two crucial conversions, forget that Klein went upstairs for the Fergo try as "try", forget that the refs ruled Kane Evans did not promote the football. Those latter decisions were correct IMO, but for a conspiracy, they could have easily just made Evans' attempt as a no-try, worn the criticism and Broncos guaranteed win.

For a match apparently being managed with prejudice by the governing body, towards a preferred outcome, they certainly didn't do much to stop Parra's late comeback.

Can tell we as the fan base are desperate for the finals. Look at the juice this thread got last night, fair few of us riding the game looking for a clearer path for our team. I for one am keen to see Madge moving us forward over the coming seasons so that we are positioned well enough to not be having to cheer for the likes of the Eels to help solidify a finals berth. That said, let’s go Faiders!

Yep, the fact is we really don’t deserve to be there anyway if we have to rely so much on these other outcomes to go our way just so we can scrape in. This scenario never bodes well for us, it’s a crap situation to be in, imo. The only times we’ve made the finals, we were already well ensconced in the top 5 before the end of the season, not having to rely on any other team to win or lose to get us there.

I have rarely seen anyone turn as much..for a long time Russell you sang Mitchell's praises..best young talent ever seen I think it was..better than Brooks by miles..

I love it..Slimey by nature...little runt..bwhahahahaha perfect..

Quick question to all the people hoping teams lose or win to get us a finals berth....
Whats going to happen when we get there a sudden splurge of brilliant footy to beat Rorters, Storm,Rabbits,Raiders etc?or just to say we made the finals to be ousted in week one?
I do hope we go as far as we can, however I would rather us play consistent, classy football week in week out with few injuries and cement a spot in the finals for a deserved crack at the title...just me I suppose and Im not being negative, just realistic...

That was before he Tanked, turned his back on the Tigers etc........

He was a talent, but as time goes on I can see whilst he was a talent he goes missing more often in games, especially when a team needs him.

I don't really need to defend my turnaround Geo - it is obvious he is TANKER.

I don't like tankers, I don't think anyone does.

I think it will build a bit of self belief for the playing group. A stepping stone going into next year.
