This is one of my pet peeves with the team too. We need an impact forward who breaks the line and gets an offload away to score a try.

I loved Madge's passion, but in what I saw in the reality tv show, he offered nothing else. Brooks has been obviously better since, so it looks like Madge tried to turn Brooks into an organising half, which he isn't. I've seen it before, coaches trying to turn thoroughbreds into workhorses, and it never works. They do more damage than good.

Totally agreed.

I mean the guy fought for the club and had huge passion. He trained them hard and then really did not know what to do when players burned out... So he trained them a little less hard.

100% with Brooks, he was being asked to fit a position he never fitted. We saw change with Brooks, particularly his defense improved but he never would be what madge was wanting. ... Which is why we saw Hastings come in, and for some stupid reason we backed Brooks at 7 and AD at 6 and let the players keep their positions irregardless of performance.

Madge is not a full time coach for a reason. IMHO still would be a good assistant pickup for another club.
 
I see a lot from this game that's good news.

We seemed to trust in a few plays, Letting our big forward pack have a few barges at the line worked in this case (we do this too much then the other teams will prepare).

Loved AJ Kepaoa (seriously over calling him AJ PLEASE STOP, there is no AJ or just call him AJK so we know who were talking about).

Tupou is still lacking a lot in defense. his idea of "going in between" means he doesn't trust himself and really made that try and easy one for the Dolphins. Those kind of plays rarely work. We need to coach Tupou in defense and surprisingly Nofo has improved, why not Tupou.

Were better but still soft in defense. The way the dolphins could break through 3 guys to score (their 4th try) isn't promissing. We need to be more physical and aggressive, though this game we saw an improvment.

Yet we did not give up. Api was damn outstanding.

Ref/bunker and two of our errors were the reason the score was so tight:
- a penalty try on Nofoaluma;
- forward pass on the opposition's 2nd try;
- forward pass by Reilly;
- dropped ball by Kopaoa .

Yeah well you can blame the refs, I thought they took their chances and played well.
That guy on debut for them made a difference when he came on too. He made a lot of our defenders look subpar.

A bloody embarrassment. Such a bad look for the club. Probably cost $400 and $50 for some engraving. Meanwhile other clubs give out boats, rings and pubs. 😂

Pretty sure it was Madge who had Benji slotting into half with Brooks, and then bought in Hastings so Brooks could slot into more of a running role.
