LIVE GAME Round 27 v Panthers

Live Game Discussion
Got to be ciritical of Benji's selections this year. When Latu came on in the halves we looked a completely different team today. Luai didn't deserve automatic selection just due to his contract value. He shouldn't even be the starting half for Parra next year but that's not our problem !!
Who was going to replace Laui ?
Luai has been pretty poor but
Latu has been consistently injured
Javon was given a chance and fell short but certainly provides promise given more time/experience in cup
Jock has had his ‘moments’, but also his challenges
Adam has missed chunks of game time with injury and walked off when Benji tried to change something - team first ???

Would have been happy for Luai to be replaced but he was one of the few more consistently available

Man im pumped after that game. There is so much wrong with this team, especially defensively, but that can be easily fixed with the right defensive coach. But what has me excited is today we finally saw what our attack looks like with 2 halves that play straight. For 2 years we have fumbled around with halves that cant ball play and cant play straight. Today in the 2nd half, we saw a completely different vibe with the team from the first set of 6 with Jock at 7 and Latu at 6. That is the first time in 3 years we have seen Latu play 6 on the left, the spot he played all his juniors. If you have doubts about what he did today, go and watch again closely and just look at the space he created for outside men by really subtle body movements. The kid is the best young 6 the game has produced on the last 10 to 15 years. His outside men are going to love him. Once he gets game time and confidence, he will take this club to the top. I have followed him since he was 15. This guy is better than any junior out there. Today he took Penrith apart after having played no footy all year, and no games at 5/8 in 3 years.....ok, so taking Penrith apart is a stretch, but im excited, so forgive me.
Does'nt explain why Benji has not seen this over the time he has been here.

Post of the day , king sirro!!!!!!
Thanks for the insight, and geez he can tackle!!
Don’t slam the door on the way out Luai!!

Yeah its a tough one when considering how much money you spend to keep him. I think we have to take the risk. He is a generational talent, and we have to keep him.
I agree we have to take the risk. The ceiling is high and we have invested a lot already. No point letting him go now.

Jenkins double into over 49.5.

The question is, does benji go all in on jock at #7 and move douhei to #13? It helps us solve a middle rotation issue with twaly moving into the rotation

I have been on team Latu for a long time. I have said for a long time this kid is the best half I have seen play Matts, Ball & Cup. In fact watched him play centre at cup in finals & he nailed it. My wife is Tongan & has always said I favour Tongans but after watching today she said what a difference he makes. Injury gods need to cut him some slack he is a freak.

Yeah i was blown away the difference KPP made to our defence. His movement decision making is first class. Why isnt he teaching others this while injured? A lot of it is brains, so it can be taught
I sat behind the posts and watched him a few times at the Knights (after he’d signed with us) and he was so good at the check and release.

Your last sentence answers the question. That mental side, the “feel” for the game, the timing and spatial awareness - you either have it or you don’t imo. Very hard to teach.
