These 6 agains really need looking at. Out of control.

The easiest way for the refs to get the team they want to win over the finishing line without making it as obvious.A 9-0 penalty count make a ref look biased but a 9-0 6 again count is usually just put down as one team lacking discipline.Strangely enough it always seems to favour the highly rated teams and Anusley does not seem to give a rats.

Yep. I don't care which team you face if you are getting smashed by 6 agains and especially on the 4th/5th tackle in the first 30 mins in any game it will have an impact on the score and your fitness to stay in the contest. Teams have to adjust mentally when the count starts again as well as adjusting their defensive lines. Worst rule ever and it just makes fans question the ethics of referees. I reckon they could blow the whistle against every team at some point in a set and yet who knows what motivated them to pick and choose when.

Yeah that's the big danger with the rule. It robs you of a lot of gas which compounds as the game goes on.

I haven't seen the game, but Canberra do push the envelope and are happy to give away 6 agains to maintain pressure on the attack. I remember they did it with us last year and the ref wasn't pulling them up. Most refs are not going to punish them in the same way they were on the weekend, so they'll keep doing it.

Same could be said about Jake Turbo - gets away with it more than most.

Sure, it’s easier for a ref to hand out a 6a and it keeps the game flowing, the alternative pre 2020 was to blow the whistle, which slows the game. This often presented a scoring opportunity for the attacking team which I believe to be unfair considering the discretionary nature of ruck penalties.
Storm have adjusted. And regardless of what Gould thinks about the 6a rule, I’m ok with it because it’s good for the game.

Yes they did push their luck with 4 to 6 in a tackle, but they had no choice, Raiders were desperately trying to slow the game down, and the ref wanted nothing to do with it.

Anusley won't even front the media with his pathetic explanations and mind blowing rule interpretations, some of which are only in his mind as they don't actually appear in the rule book.

In actual fact why would he need to explain anything anyway because now you can't criticise the match official so there is no need to cover for them.

In the mean time supporters and fans of the game can Whistle Dixie, your choice whether you use the soft whistle or hard whistle.

Yeh all are very good, But Hass and Tino man....I just think they are next level. Maybe Tapine at his best is up there. At that level of good it is probably a bit subjective. I would not have May with Carrigan and AFB just yet but he's looking good

I think yeo is also top shelf but forgot about him because his role is so different.
Payne Haas is on his own level.

Tino is good, but he isn't at that same level.
Triple M was basically talking how Payne Haas is super physical and strong, but super fast too. Many people you get bodies developed for Speed or for muscle, while he has both.

Yeo is clearly top shelf in a good team. Haas, man that guy was just class when Brisbane was coming last.

I was really worried that we would be getting slammed. We gained:
May + Hunt
We lost:
Klemmer, Bateman, Stefano, Papalii

On paper we should be Way behind, yet clearly we are pounding on. Loving Pole and even Baby Giraffe! (honestly Seyfarth, claim it. I reckon a giraffe headbutt would hurt).

Pack is batting way above their paygrade.

Here's another club like penrith, confused about their colours... Canberra bulldogs
Yea, Agreed
Cowboys are looking like a cross between Canterbury, Canberra and the Eels.

One thing I appreciate about the Storm. They have the colours and look like the "Storm", their own damn team.

So what does the NRL do with the Fins, make them look like inverted St George fans. It's like the Stealers are back.

Didn't mind that Dolphins 1965 retro jersey, they should use that whenever they play at Kayo Stadium at Redcliffe.

Coincidently Arthur Beetson and Kevin Yow Yeh both played in that 1965 Brisbane Grand Final won by Redcliffe and the following year (1966) both came down to Sydney to play for Balmain.

With the transfer fees that were paid for Beetson and Yow Yeh, Redcliffe were able to build their first club house which sounds ridiculous today.

It was Kevin Yow Yeh that attracted my attention around that time and is probably what made me become a Balmain Tigers supporter.

They were both very good footballers even though only Artie went on to become a legend.

Poor old Kevin dies in a Queensland watch house at the age of 34.
It was a sad story as he unfortunately could not cope with "Sydney city life" and he went back to Qld.There was much conjecture when he died about the circumstances surrounding it.In those days QLD was still ran by a very corrupt government (Bjelke-Petersen) and the truth was often hidden (not saying it was the case with Kevin's tragic loss).

Kevin was a very angry man and it probably had a lot to do with his early demise.

Arthur Beetson was a good mate and held Kevin in high esteem but spoke of his anger issues that probably destroyed him in the end.

That was a "retro" jersey of the Dolphins first grand final win in the Brisbane comp....a one off.
