You're right, the halves call the plays. But the other players need to then put themselves into the right spots to receive the ball. That didnt happen tonight. Most players running off douhei and luai were in crappy spots. They weren’t better at all, their halves created more chances for them which may have padded their stats. Our backrowers weren’t used BY OUR HALVES.
Our forwards were not the problem. They had us camped in the bunnies end for most of that game. The Tigers spine had no clue how to score and ran around in circles feeding blokes standing still. Whose job is it to organise them?
I believe they signed him for 2026 on a development contract, therefore assume we signed him to develop him over the next few years.Big body halves player. Why sign him if we’re not going to use him when needed? Good luck to him if he gets an opportunity.
Thought Mak and LL were solid enough after a rough start.
Because giving Galvin a platform and keys to the team worked?Blocking Makasini's pathway sounds like a great way of retaining him.
On two or three occasions AD dummied when we had good opportunities out wide. It’s his biggest fault as a HB imo. You're right, the halves call the plays. Im also cognisant that we had very little possession in the first 20 minutes. All that defence probably took the punch out of the effectiveness in attack.
I just think it was a pretty average performance all round.
I thought one shining light was that we controlled the ruck well in defence. I cant recall the last time I ever thought we were decent in that department.
I dont remember either of those. Do you remember roughly at what stage of the game and ill check it out.On two or three occasions AD dummied when we had good opportunities out wide. It’s his biggest fault as a HB imo.
On another occasion Seyfarth called the ball when we had Souths shot to bits. That’s the HB’s moment to win it.
The Seyfarth one was late following a kick we regathered. Hope I think.I dont remember either of those. Do you remember roughly at what stage of the game and ill check it out.
we only scored those tries cause there fb went offSouths only beat us on 2 of the 31 stats categories. I’m not so concerned about the attack. While we didn’t score tries we did enough to get Souths gassed. Thats our strategy and it’s a smart one. Work hard early score late. I reckon if Luai didn’t go off we easily score a couple of tries late like we did in the first half.
To true, 4 players out of the 7 in our back line for up to 7 weeks, we are in big trouble! People complaining about our attack easily forget that our starting centres are currently out, makes a big difference to a team. Now both our halves, we’re fkd!Injuries are already killing us, T. May, Toa, Luai and AD on sidelines is not good. Especially against the Wahs
Our depth is already tested 2-5 and now 6-7 will be another problem
Expect a tough next 6 weeks
Gosh people here are fickle. One week Doueihi will play origin and Skelton is an underrated gun, next week both should be dropped... Neither had a good game, but we lost by 4 so let's not get too doom and gloom.
Forwards did a great job to give us field position, so that's a positive. Though South's errors helped too.
I really don't understand our capitulation in the opposition's 20. To my mind it has been our biggest issue for the past few years at least. I'd like to see us execute some set plays, rather than do hot potato every set. Seems like a coaching failure to me to be honest, because we have the attacking threat on the roster. And we have been through a million halves parnterships with this as a pervasive issue.
Our halves didn't play together.Souths forwards were better than ours.
KPP and Samuela had very quiet games in attack.
Multiple times the backline depth wasnt there and players were almost at a stand still receiving the ball. I dont blame luai and douhei for that.
We always struggle when we have a single makeshift centre, let alone two.
The team showed we still have a long way to go.
Lets just hope we can scrape a few wins without our centres and halves.
Umm they have two players out and an extra one yesterday and they got pumped! We have 4 in our backline out including both our halves, yeah we will go great! What shi...ts me is the headline that the.. Tigers season is over ....it's round 3 !! we don't even know the severity of there injuries. The Knights have a few quality players out haven't seen the same headlines for them.😮💨
Bulla is frustrating to watch. So much potential but plays like he don't give a shit. The forwards dominated tonight, but th outside backs offered nothing unfortunately.. our fullback seems incapable of making a line break or breaking a tackle or even drawing and passing at the moment.. they did that stupid block play and ran it at wighton all night ,, he ate it up as he is a brilliant defensive centre that has seen that block play out the back for 15 years.. he just jammed in on the recidver and the annoying part is we refused to adapt… tonight was incredibley frustrating as the pack were all over the souths pack and they were really let down imo
Too often tries are scored and Bula is a long way away, jogging along. When teams score against Penrith or Easts, Edwards and Teddy are always in the frame, doing their best.Bulla is frustrating to watch. So much potential but plays like he don't give a shit.
