LIVE GAME Round 3 versus Souths

Live Game Discussion
Turning point 8 or so mins out middle of field that incorrect call for dropped ball that South's knocked on for some reason went against us. They scored their final try after that set.
I remember Walters on Fox commentary say clearly South's got very lucky call there and it whacked us. They scored next set and it was over.

Most NRL fullbacks are energiser bunnies, just not ours.
To think someone like Trai Fuller is currently not even getting NRL game time.
so by what you have commented of late, now the club should stop entertaining Bula's wanting price or taking up their option ,hope Bula doesn't take his.???
As he is dropping 20-30 grand a week on his potential ,for potential earnings

Two games perfectly set up for Bula to show us his brilliance and he was not able to.
A packed Leichhardt Oval with us having plenty of possession and the Ciwboys under fatigue.
Then against the Rabbitohs with the game in the balance for much of the second half and again us dominating field possession and ball possession causing plenty of fatigue in the Rabbitohs defence, yet very minimal impact.
It’s either we have no idea how to get the best out of him or he is just not near as good as some think he is.
Either way there is not near enough upside to warrant extending him at 900k for one more season or longer on what is currently being shown.

True that ,but you seem to have backed right of your bullish stance that the club/his management seeked time to justify eithers price tag.
Telling us to chill, you where in the know .
Now your going with the flow, rolling over for a tummy rub ,legs in air

The club is absolutely giving him more time to prove his value.
If it was up to me I would be making other plans now before we miss out.
Will he come out and blitz it and help win us the game on Friday night in NZ ?
I highly doubt it, but stranger things have happened.

If dogs really want him, they should all sort it asap ,and get value in return ,
Richo rolled over to easy letting galvin n tds go like that,
Im a long suffering fan from the Magpie side , of the jv.
But no longer will team results or club decisions ruin my day 2 day fun
Dogs want Bula ?- we need Tracey Xerri , surely that can be juggled , Gus is the master manipulator

I reckon there's more chance of Bula yanking a leprechaun out of his arse than having a blinder next game.

I watched the game on Sat night and had reasonable hopes of getting the points against Souths...As most of you on here know that I call a spade a spade and Iam a True tiger in every sense of the game..I cast my opinion on what I see,and what I did see is that our young up and coming stars such as Makasini need a lot more help from our more experienced stars..I note that JL and AD are injured and T May is out, however the young guys were out played by Mitchell,Walker and co.who have many, many NRL games under their belts..
Am I disappointed with the loss, yes but the younger guys will benefit greatly from the experience.Once our boys develop even further during this season, they will be a team to reckon with,we just need to keep them together and let Benji and co do their job...It's only early days and I can hear the Tiger roar already ...God bless you guys and the team..❤️👍🐅

Agree. If he has a foot out the door already then getting some real value back is the process, rather than sending them in a limo.
Disappointing loss, when we should have had the class to ice it earlier in the 2nd. A few howlers let us down. Just ground the MF ball Skelton...
Losing both halves is diabolical... Where to from here? I dont see it all bad, Madden to 7 and Andrews to 6 - nothing to lose v Wahs. We can win V Parra and Knights, still in touch.

This is why we have to adopt a rational assessment. Last week, after a good home win we were being sprouted as top 8, top 4 and in some cases top 2, ridiculous based on one game.
This week it’s the opposite, injuries will
decimate our chances.
What weve just gone through is the normal ebb and flow of footy. We supposedly bought well to give us depth in case of injuries, let’s see how that goes
and we have supposedly have a master plan. So stick with that !
I was a little concerned about Benjis attitude in the presser, I saw a bit of last year in there and a lot of love for the players that may or may not be justified.
The big 3, ie Penrith,Broncos and Storm all exhibit a different kind of persona.
Structured and organised along with players capable of showing flair when necessary. They speak well of their team but are realistic in their comments.
As long as we play like last night we’ll continue to be an also ran. When the stats are so heavily in your favour you’ve got to
Learn how to turn that into points ( lots of them).
I know I’ll be howled down but I think it
Is unlikely we win in the next 2 games unless we can continue to dominate the stats, then make them count.
Well said

I agree with many peoples' comments about the game. We looked like winners at half time, overturning a 12 point deficit and clearly in the ascendancy. As I watched the game in the second half, I thought, 'we're going to win this'. Actually. I began to wonder by how much. But the tries didn't come. It wasn't so much that tries were bombed it's that we constantly took wrong options, wasted tackles with ineffective crash plays and the Tigers' 'chook without it's head' style that inevitably resulted in lost possession. There was a lack of structure and shoddy execution and much of this can be attributed to poor spine involvement. All of this made it easy for Souths in defense. Back to the offensive drawing board Benji and let's see if you can do it with Jock and Latu.

Yet again it looked like the backs all just met each other that day..
...there some podcast guys that are regularly at training... do they look this poor at Concord thru the week?

This is why there were calls for an overhaul of the coaching structure last year, .and here we are 2 weeks in seeing the same issues as last year.
Teams know we will throw little at them in the red zone they only have to hold their line, we make.it simple for them

We looked poorly coached, no ideas in attack and defence getting out manoeuvred too easily

Once again we had to cope with some adversity after some absolutely shocking calls against us early on that have Souths opportunities they shouldn't have had. But our defence was too poor. Having no centres in first grade and no real prospects coming through in any grade either, we need to sign some NRL quality backs ASAP

If our wannabe $1million fullback bothered to back up one of the breaks we made we win that game easily . He is literally no where to be seen . Go watch some tape of Hodgson and see how he hung around the middle and was there for every break.
I don't have to watch replays of Hodgo, I remember how good he was for his size, the infuriating thing is he would be trying to get through to Bula the importance of backing up.

So, what's the go, is he deaf/thick or is he distracted by the potential club move to a risky greener pasture, it's messing with his head and giving us the shits.
