Welcome back to all the "team can't play" & "Taylor can't coach" posters. Have obviously been otherwise occupied for the last few weeks.

If you couldn't see the under lying problems being masked by the the 2 early wins , then carry on, Taylor hasn't done anything with this team since last year except let Brooks and Moses have more free reign. The same problems from last year are still there, but you carry on jerking off over JT's 2 early wins

The halves defence has improved massively. Defence has improved in general, but depth is a major problem. Sironen gone meant Lovett played big minutes, Buchanan got too many minutes and Aloiai not enough. The attack has worked well based on forwards running angles & creating space for their backs. Forwards ran out of puff tonight and the bench players had no impact.

Some good points here but we also dropped a tonne of ball. When we held it we scored some points. Lawrence, Woods, Aloia all dropped it cold. Brooks gave hospital passes.

It wasn't a JT thing. It wasn't a defence and grinding out wins is more important than attack issue.

We have let in an average of 26 points per game this year, and 30 against the wooden spoon favourites, that is all you need to see we are still as bad as last year, only being masked by the latitude given to our halves.

In our first two games we had good go forward from our pigs, this allows your playmakers time and space to put the backline plays on… If there is no go forward then this then takes that time away from the playmakers and what results is what you seen tonight dropped balls rushed passes and poor decision making. If you don't win the ruck and get good go forward then you can't play the attacking style of play that won us our first 2 games... It's not rocket science

You are right but there were some poor plays from our halves and Tedesco didn't perform. You can't blame all of this on the forwards not going well. Our key players need to win us games when things aren't going well.

I'm sorry but many of tonights problems revolved around Brooks and some stupid options he took

Yes he was poor.

Yes but Lawrence did have ball security tonight.

Everyone loves it when we run and gun sides off the park , but we have no back up plans when it falls apart

And here we go again.

But Lawrence would drop one out of every three balls when he gets it tight , you just don't throw the pass

And yes here we go again , when your attack misfires badly you need to play tight get through your sets and wait for the chances to comes and if all else fails you defend your way to victory

All we did was go to a lower percentage play to the next lower percentage play when that went pear shaped

isn't it funny , you have all these wonderful ideas Steve , but when it comes to the crunch they fall into a massive heap when we can't score points

One day even you will realize this

Honestly I wonder if you have any idea at all. You make a good point that Brooks stuffed up. Lawrence also stuffed up.

Then we go onto the same palava that you can't drop.

It's not about me being wrong. It's about you having no idea whatsoever. We could've scored a tonne of points tonight. You got some of this right when you realised that Brooks played poorly with the ball in hand. It wasn't not scoring points that was the problem. It wasn't even our defence. It was terrible ball security and poor options in attack.

Still keep doing your song and dance routine which has worked out great for you so far hasn't it.

Yes and the terrible ball security came because we didn't just play smart and relied a solid completion rate and tried to stop the rot defensively

Why did we switch our attack to the left after having so much success going right ??

Twice he tries to hit Lawrence with tight balls that were never on , early in the second half when we were set to the right he decides to switch to a short blind with nothing on

Everyone loves it when we run and gun sides off the park , but we have no back up plans when it falls apart

Brooks needs to play a proper half back role .
His cute little chip kicks are killing us .

The last 2 weeks we have looked a lot better with Moses running most of the plays.
On TV looked like the Titans were allowed a very skinny 10 . Anybody who was at the game can let us know?

Really. So Woods and Lawrence just dropping it cold was part of a master plan or they were trying for something special. Nope. They just dropped it cold.

It wasn't about pushing passes and trying to go for the big attacking play. It was predominantly simple mistakes. I personally doubt the coach planned to do that or the players planned to do it. They just made dumb errors.

I'm not saying it's all the forwards fault I'm saying that if they aren't rolling forward the halves don't have time to put those plays on or they are rushed into a poor decision, we needed to put some of the back line plays away and instead of pushing the pass roll up the sleeves and get in the grind until you are getting the go forward and that's when things open up for you… Are you saying its up to Teddy to perform or our halves to pull off something freakish if we are to win a game?? That's rediculous

Was at the game and a few things that was noted …..

1\. They looked very carefree in the warm up
2\. First 15-20 was off the back of lots of possession and as soon as the Titans decided to kick long on a few sets our blokes looked gassed with 15 to go .
3\. They ran us ragged in the middle with lots of switching close to the line , parra were good at this against the dogs . Be afraid
4\. Moses was bad , brooks run some decent lines , Buchanan is not a first grader and the Titans were much more energetic . There line speed was twice as good as ours .
5\. Tedesco , rankin and Kev played well

Our defence was really bad at crucial times and the Titans deserved the win

Oh and If people think cherrington is going to be our number one hooker :bash Please don't . He is very very much a one trick pony . Robbie and ballin will improve this side immensely

Besides a few slick backline plays at the beginning & ends of the game I thought we looked a bit disorganised tonight. Teddy did quite a bit of dummy half running & I'm sure Moses was passed the ball to do a hit-up from a 20m tap in the 2nd half.

Besides what has been mentioned, we just seem to lose the ruck (& the plot) when Woods, Grant & Sue were off. I still thought Lawrence & Alioi ran hard, Halatau defended well, but Lovett & Buchanan was just ineffective tonight.

I hope Farah & Edwards are ready for 1sts, we'll need their experience & defence to help keep the balance right next week. Also wouldn't mind seeing Chee-Kam get a chance off the bench.

Lawrence drops were because Brooks called a low percentage play , if you have watched us play you'd release Lawrence drops as many as catches when we play him tight in traffic under pressure

Woods made a mistake , dropped an easy ball , I'm not going to crucify a bloke who is playing big minutes and playing his backside out

Brooks throws a pass above Simona head and they score off it , Moses throws that ball and I bet it hits the mark

They made dumbs mistakes cause they didn't play smart footy at crucial times

Professional sport is all about playing the percentages , especially when you are in the lead and cruising

So many times tonight when catch ,draw and pass would of killed the Titans

I was there as well and the old GCT curse was workingnat top form, with the exception of last year , whenever I go to a Titans ground we get bounced.

I'd agree with most of what you saidPezza103, except that after the first 20 minutes, BOTH Moses and Brooks were useless. It's true as some have pointed out that the forwards weren't going forward , as they have in the first rounds. And that was true.
But it maybe have helped if Moses had taken on the line on a few occasions except just continuing to put up bombs when no one was chasing. After the first 20 minutes there was players across the ground( our team) who were absolutely gone. And our kick chase just got slower.
kevvie looked completely buggered
After a great start for him he looked like he was going to collapse.
It was extremely humid around here at 6pm , but it seemed fo have improved a bit by the time that we got to the ground, and I guess it was the same for both teams.
The team seemed like they ran into a brick wall

Well unless you have Kevvie in your fantasy team that was disappointing. 5 tries to four in the end is a bit of a false impression. Farah back in and Mania might need a stretch in the reggies.

And wasn't someone saying only a week or two that Mosed was greatly superior than Richards and was destined to be the greatest goal kicker ever for WTs????

Disappointing loss, but not unexpected. The lack of goal kicking doesn't do our for and against much good either, are we understand 60% after all 3 games?

I'm stating that the halves and Tedesco are not always going to have their forwards dominating and we still need to win games under those circumstances.

You can't expect the forwards to smash every other team consistently.

The Titans had every backline movement of ours covered, even when our forwards laid a platform with good go forward and quick play the balls the Titans defended us easily.
I think we ran out of ideas, we just kept persisting with the same plays and the Titans kept shutting us down, which led to maybe a bit of frustration and mistakes.
