Who would you pick for round 5 vs Cowboys

1 ryan
2 Tuqiri
3 Ayshford (If out Jake Clarke but will be Geoff Daniela)
4 Lawrence
5 Brown

6 Marshall
7 Moltzen

8 Gibbs
9 Farah
10 Gibbs
11 Fulton
12 Ellis
13 Heighington

14 Fifita
15 Payten
16 Flanagan
17 Fitzhenry (In case the replacement centre doesnt perform and cover in general, plus if ayshford is there he may not get through 80 has to be picked may not necessarily get minutes though)

18 Lazarus
19 Moors

i would swap fitzy for another forwad
as the cowboys are a big side
n the heat up there might make our forwad tired quicker

n maybe daniella but havent seen any maggies games
how has been going?

This is my team not the one I think the Fonz will pick. If Ayshford is out . . .

1 Ryan
2 Tuqiri
3 **Josh Davis** Strength to try and handle Tonga
4 Lawrence
5 **Rhys Pritchard** much needed speed required against the Cowgirls

6 Marshall
7 Moltzen (**Lazarus** if Moltzen still has rib problems or whatever it is that is bothering him)

8 Gibbs
9 Farah
10 Galloway
11 Heighington
12 Ellis
13 Fulton (Must start but I would have him at lock)

14 Fifita (Bring on after 25 mins for the rest of the half then try him for 20 mins in the 2nd half. Might be hard in the warmer weather of Nth Qld)
15 Payten (Bring him on after 30 then leave him on)
16 Flanagan
17 Taumata (Must be included we need his spark)

18 D Fifita (Needs a crack as sibling rivalry will benefit us greatly and he will rise to the occasion I reackon)
19 Lazarus
20 Al Schirnack (Wont let us down)

good team BB

1\. Ryan - solid, deserves his spot
2\. Tuqiri - 'nuff said
3\. Fitzhenry
4\. Lawrence - gee he had some GREAT speed against Canberra! He's really starting to hit some form!
5\. Pritchard - honestly Brown isn't offering much

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen - he must be carrying an injury

8\. Galloway
9\. Farah ©
10\. Gibbs
11\. Fulton - working that left side SOOOOO well
12\. Ellis
13\. Heighington - taken off at the 35min mark, brought back on at the 60min mark

14\. Fifita - WOW!
15\. Flanagan - are the TAB offering odds on how many times he'll either break the line or put someone through a hole?
16\. Taumata
17\. Payten - always plays well in the number 17
\

on a side note, i feel sorry for who ever is defending against the Fulton/Lawrence/Tuqiri left hand side. Deadset, thier attacking skill is amazing!

1.Ryan
2.Lote
3.Fulton
4.Lawrence
5.Brown

6.Marshall
7.Moltzen

8.Gibbs
9.Farah
10.Galloway
11.Payten
12.Ellis
13\. Heighington

Reserves
14.Fifita
15.Flanagan
16.Moors
17.Lazarus

Not sure about the credentials of some of the centre options.

Ryan
Tuqiri
Fulton
Lawrence
Brown
Marshall
Moltzen
Galloway
Farah
Gibbs
Ellis
Payten
Heightington

Fifita
Cayless
Flanagan
Fitzhenry
Moors.

I would be looking at minimal disruption. Not sure if Fulton is up to it, however it means Ryan can stay at fullback and lote can stay on the wing. We did sign Daniella though so if he can't get a shot now then it was a waste of a signing

Interesting.

Please explain . . . . .

**What we need to do to beat the cowboys**
- muscle up to their aggressive pack early and set the pace, exactly what Canberra did to us.
- 'attack' the game with some imact players in the forwards for the first 20 minutes.
- ensure we maintain a solid foundation in 1, 6, 7 and 9 positions.
- ensure the centres are both solid in defence and attack.

**The team**
1\. Meany
2\. Ryan
3\. Tuqiri
4\. Lawrence
5\. Brown
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Ellis
11\. Fifita
12\. Flannagan
13\. Payten

14\. Fulton
15\. Gibbs
16\. A Schirnack
17\. Fitzhenry

**The changes**
#1 Sean Meany
From what I've seen he's always up in looking for the ball, safe under the high ball, solid in defence and can chime in well in the backline. I think he's a better choice at fullback than Brown, Ryan or Lote. Plus he's always played fullback/wing. I think he's a solid choice.

#3 Lote Tuqiri
So Willie Tonga has hit some form and we need some one big who can wrap him up, who better than Tuqiri. He's also shown how lethal he can be in attack. In the centres he's also likely to see more football. Who knows what sort of combinations he might create with our playmakers. I'm not suggesting this be a long term switch, but now's the time to try him. Even if Ayshford was cleared to play, give him an extra week to recover. Its so early in the season and there's no need to risk it. It'll give Sheens a good opportunity to see where Lote is at.

#10\. Gareth Ellis
Playing front row just gives Ellis an excuse to run and hit harder, which is just scarey if your the opposition. With the Cowboys big pack, we really need to muscle up and stick it to them. Ellis and Galloway up front can really set the pace early.

#11\. Andrew Fifita
He runs and hits hard. Let him loose for the first 20 minutes feeding off Ellis and Galloway then replace him with Fulton. I think Fulton's better utlised a bit into the match when players tire, where as Fifita is a good option when we need the 'big pack' on the field for impact.

#12\. Mark Flannagan
I think he played 80 minutes against the Roosters? But I like what he offers in attack and is pretty aggresive in defence. A solid option

#15 Bryce Gibbs
Coming off the bench replacing Galloway 15-25 minutes into the match. He'll keep the pack 'stable' for the 2nd part of the first half.

#16 A Shirncack
From what I've seen he's a pretty solid prop. I'm open to other props replacing him, but from what I've seen he's alright.

#17 Daniel Fitzhenry
He's utlitiy. He can play hooker, wing, fullback, prop. He's got speed and could be dangerous around a tiring big cowboys pack.

thats what i'd do anyway

1.Ryan
2.Tuqiri
3.Lawrence
4.Moltzen(if Ayshford is out)
5.Brown
6.Marshall
7.Lazarus (if ayshford is out)
8.Gibbs
9.Farah
10.Galloway
11.Heighnington
12.Ellis
13.Fulton

14.Moors
15.Fifta
16.Payton
17.Flanagan

18.Fitzhenry

1\. Ryan
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Flanagan
4\. Lawrence
5\. Brown
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Gibbs (outstanding this year)
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Fulton (needs to play 80mins for his defence)
12\. Ellis
13\. Heighington

14\. Lazarus
15\. Fifita
16\. Payten
17\. Moors

A left side of Marshall, Fulton, Lawrence and Tuqiri for 80 mins will scare any team!
Flanagan on Tonga purely for defence, Brown will come in and help cos Tonga will never pass to his winger even with the line wide open!

What we need to do to beat the cowboys

They should be worrying about what THEY need to do to beat us…

1\. Ryan
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Lawrence
4\. Flanagan
5\. Brown
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Fulton
13\. Payten

14\. Fafita
15\. Moors
16\. Heighnington
17\. Tuamata

-------------------------------------

Forget worrying about how to stop the cowboys... they need to worry about how to stop us! I've played sport my entire life from football to league and the moment you start playing to the other side's abilities and ignore you own... is when you start loosing!

**4\. Flanagan**
Defends very well and is very fit! Needs more game time out there like when he played against the Roosters! Has a good passing game for a forward along with a good ability to turn a defender. Will cover very well in at the centers and has enough speed to do so imo

17\. Tuamata
Cover for a backline injury and to move Flanagan into the forwards if injury strikes there.

12\. Fulton
Needs to play 80mins!!!!

1\. Ryan
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Lawrence
4\. Flanagan
5\. Brown

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Fulton
13\. Heighnington

14\. Fifita
15\. Moors
16\. Payten
17\. Mataka

But honestly I think the starting pack will remain the same.

Watch for LOD to try a few cheap shots on Fulton at one stage. Watch for Galloway to react

Flanagan to centre.
Moors to bench.
Everything else stays the same although I'd like to see Fitzy go to left right out & give someone else a chance to warm the splinters.

If Flanagan goes as well at centre as I think he would he may well end up making it his permanent position. He has speed, strength, good defensive technique, a good passing game and a football brain.
Ayshford would then make a perfect 14 when he gets back that is actually useful as a rotational backrower as well as cover for a backline injury. If we ever need a replacement hooker during a game Fulton can slot in there.

This is not the side I would play with but more the side I think we will see:

1\. Brown (his preferred position)
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ryan (I believe this is his preference)
5\. Fitzy (Timmy will have him some where)
6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen
8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Ellis
12\. Payten
13\. Heighnington

14\. Fafita
15\. Moors
16\. Fulton
17\. Lazarus

The only other change I can see is Tiquri to fullback which would leave Brown n the wing. Tim does not necessarily like to blood young players - tends to run with the same in guys albeit in different positions.

Couple of things to remember. We have had success against the cows when we shut down Thurston (no Sh1t Sherlock) but i seem to remember Fulton doing this very effectively. Also Cows may be ex[posed to the high ball given that the Mighty Mouse is 5 foot nothing and I believe their wingers are not giants either

I'd keep Fulton away from Luke so he doesnt get distracted. I'm sure they will come together at some stage. Wonder if there is a market on those 2 being placed in the bin?

We gotta put Ellis on O'Donnell. What a match up!!!

Mr Humpty - Bring Luke Home for 2011!!!

1\. Ryan
2\. Tuqiri
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ellis
5\. Brown

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Flanagan
12\. Fulton
13\. Heighnington

14\. Fifita
15\. Moors
16\. Payten
17\. Schirnack Jnr

Actually yes young Jason or Al would be a better fit on the bench than Willie. Alot of aggro in that pair and good fitness

I'd guess its an attempt to handle tonga…

Defending just wide of the ruck is one thing, center is an entirely diferent proposition...dunno who I'd put there but definitly Liam before ...teehee....Gaz :brick:
