About Gee ? Do I need to qualify it by saying if Klein is absolute joke of a ref that’s completely biased and ruins games , then in comparison gee is fair and reasonable ? Is that better ?

Gee was being lionized by the media for overseeing the 2023 GF because it was so close...

A bit like Hollywood Harrigan in 1989 - despite his questionable rulings (in particular the McGuire "shepherd" penalty from pushing the marker that was 100% wrong by the rules and has NEVER been deemed a penalty before or since.

Harrigan's performance was shit - but because it delivered a nailbiter he was incorrectly lauded for the spectacle - despite bastardising the result!

Gee has a similar loose approach to the actual rules and "goes with the momentum" - which is actually a massive flaw in his approach & why he was relegated from the big games last year!

Klein - Sutton - Boxhead Butler etc are all compromised & incompetent - but Gee isn't any better!

Glad we don't have Kasey Badger in the bunker though...

The whole comp this year is pretty average, they’re just above average

If an underdog is ever going to win the comp, this is the year to do it

Agreed its pretty open this year and there aren't the 3 or 4 stand out teams of previous years. Its probably Melbournes to lose really. Ciraldo still has done an outstanding job with a fairly mid-tier roster

Averillo and Alomati seem to be thriving in better environments - despite Gould flicking them for upgrades...

He backed Barrett etc to the hilt - and always speaks with a forked tongue belying his ever-changing agendas!

He bought Te Maire Martin to Penrith from our dysfunctional management when he had little faith in Cleary and Luai to step up from the junior ranks!

Not to mention Soward as a marquee player

He backs so many different horses it is inevitable that he gets the occasional one right!

If you listen to him religiously - you are worshipping a false God and need to better examine the veracity & motivation behind his long history of contradictory statements!

The REAL value that Gus offers to the teams he has worked this century are his connections - not his expertise!

Is Burton a good 5/8? I’ve never thought so personally.
Great ball runner with a big boot but he does some poor playmaking.
