We have lost 2 games where we had enough ball to win 10 games. Its easy to say Luai is the factor there, but thats not the case. Its all about having a genuine 7 that creates space to allow us to put our shape on and strip the opposition and Luai looks immediately better when Latu comes on. Luai will go great with Madden at 7 and Latu at lock off the nech. The world is getting caught up in Adam Doueihi doing some fantastic indivual things and applauding him as a great 7. All the while all his team mates have no clue what line to run off the back of him because he cant ball play for his life. He props and jinks and take all momentum out of our attack. He is a runner and a runner only. When he runs he is great. He does zero for cohesion, zero for fluently, zero for creating space for outside men.

I think this right. Luai is Benji's biggest supporter and is driving standards. Benji is not going to drop Luai. Everything points to the same halves combo next week.

I was more thinking Luai on the bench and back to Douehi/ Madden as halves combination. Young Fainu is just being given token minutes coz they don’t know exactly what to do with him. And neither do I !
If Bula shoulder is gone for Thursday then maybe Douehi to FB ?
And Makasini to left right out, some NSW Cup time needed for him. Reminds me a lot of Tommy Talau !

Makasini began the season touted as one of the most promising young players the club had ever seen, and now he’s being spoken about in the same breath as Kepaoa and Talau 🤣

What you are describing is more aptly applied to Luai.
AD was one of our best again.
I agree he is no ballplaying seven, but he does provide some leadership that no one else supplies.
Luai is not working. He just doesn’t compliment anything we do here. He needs Nathan. He needs Isaah, He needs Dylan and Liam.

We’ve clearly improved this year. Clearly. But we have been a bit lucky. We squeezed past Parra who were decimated with injuries before and during the game. We did a good job against the Knights who were also decimated by injuries. Lost by a point tonight but the Broncos were also decimated by injuries and suspensions (but still had a good team).

The Raiders are going to be tough on a five day turnaround (after two six day turnarounds). We will likely lose that I believe. They always trouble us. If we do we are 4-3 with the sharks on deck and the storm in the hole. It’s a tough period for us.

Not sure on that one thought he broke lose of the tackle. The api one was the killer, much worse, more obvious. Yet no one mentioned it after the game no one on fox, nothing, crickets! If that was the other way, they wouldn’t have stopped talking about it.
Big decision, yet glossed over, typical.
This was an important win for us, Faiders are a better side than the donkeys at the moment. It will be very tuff to win that.

Can’t see them moving JL out of the starting team ..whether his form warrants if or not…

Is their talk of Bula being out or just your speculation? Can’t recall AD playing FB for a long time 😑

Latu’s future is a worry …. I don’t know where he fits in …and his brother is becoming a monster… are they a package deal?

I think we just need to go back to Madden and Doueihi in the halves. Even though Madden has been wearing the 6 and Doueihi the 7 Madden has pretty much been our halfback. Nothing wrong with Herbet at centre, I honestly don't know what to do with Luai because I think Doueihi would just compliment Madden better at 6. He has a better running game from 6 than Luai and you're going to put him out at centre and it's just not the same at all. All of his line breaks that then lead to try assists have been from a position of ball playing, not one position inside the wing. Even when combining with Madden when spreading to the edges their chemistry has looked second nature. If anything I see Doueihi as more of a ball playing lock off the bench than going to centre, but then what do you do with Latu? It's all just a headache which is kind of a good thing but only if you make the right choices which Benji didn't do with this lineup tonight.

The ball luai sent to Samuela , he’s the only one in the team who not only sees it , executes it , but deceptively puts it where it needs to be , softly into the chest .
I’m telling people right now a ball like that in the chest but soft and easy to grab whilst running at speed , is beyond hard to do.
Just in comparison to our former half is who is 32 and still can’t do it .
Luai is a gun . A madden/ ad pairing would have got lapped tonight .

I think a Madden and Doueihi pairing would have won by 20+ tonight.

TDM is definitely improving as the season goes on. Hope he continues this form and is in the 3 2 1 discussions against canberra. It will be a test against their pack but I think we can match them. Hopefully Bula is ok.
