LIVE GAME Round 7 vs. Panthers

If we solely stick to that plan we won’t make the top 8 for at least another 3 years.
If you are happy with that than so be it,
Im very happy to give our kids a chance to enter the NRL stage ...thats what its all about ,nurture them, develop them and give them a career in our team and club...not let them be bought and sold to please the big money spenders who only want the glory while the kids get manipulated and used until the next big star comes along to be bought and sold...understand what Im saying mate...

It’s not helping kids develop when the team they play for is constantly at the bottom of the ladder.
Any club that is fair dinkum about developing their best young players would ensure they move heaven and earth to have a core of top quality players around them.
At the moment the only thing we have that is top quality is our starting middles and our number 9.
If we lose Stef which is highly likely, we won’t even have that,

You obviously do not understand.
If Gus Gould was running our club, he would have signed him and then worked out offloading some under performing but contracted players.
Who cares about Gus,we had Pascoe and co,,,whats done is done...we need the crew in charge to clean the mess and do the best they can with what we have,,we are on the right path we just need time and some very smart business dealings going forward, its happening but we need time and patience, atm I have both and want whats best for our players and club...

Michael Carryarnis on the ABC today was very strong in tipping Stef would be with the Warriors next year.

Olam is a great buy,Sezar is a great tutor for Galvin,Pole is pretty good,Fainu is awesome,Bateman is a leader ...I could go on,but it seems to me you want a premiership yesterday so you can keep up with the Joneses..Wake up mate we have been behind the 8 ball since 2005 with the garbage that has gone on from top to bottom, the glory hunters only have thought about themselves and not the longevity of the team and club, however from this year it starts...

Yes and it sounds very much like you are satisfied for it to keep going on for the next 10 years.

Im quite satisfied for the club and coaching staff to change from the garbage of the last decade to getting stability and cohesion in this team,it takes time but Im happy to see improvment on a weekly basis...in my opinion it is happening even though there are hurdles to overcome...

I’m sure most on this forum do not watch other NRL games.
Every other NRL team is heavily reliant on their fullback and their edge forwards to create attacking attacking opportunities every time they are in good attacking position.
The players they have in these positions nearly always run onto the ball at high speed, threaten to make line breaks, create line break or try assists, make line breaks or score tries themselves, contest the attacking high balls and if they don’t get the ball they are often a genuine decoy that creates extra space for others.
If this was happening with our attack we would not be struggling to score more than 1 or 2 tries each game and we would not look like a rudderless rabble each time we attack the opponents red zone.
It’s funny how most put all the blame on our halves last season and now Brooks in particular is showing when he has decent players around him in these crucial positions he is more than capable of playing a strong hand in many try scoring opportunities each game.
If you want to take the blinkers off you’d find Bula is in position and backing up on plenty of occasions.
You talk about a rabble but then zero in on one kid?
The successful teams you’re talking about have combinations built over time or seasoned veterans in key positions.
There’s plenty of teams right now making us look good in comparison.
The spine, or ‘rabble’ we ran out last week hadn’t had more than two games together as a unit.
If you’re expecting perfection in that time period you’re being unreasonable.
I pull my hair out and curse at some of the stupid mistakes individual players make but know we’re on a learning curve.
Maybe you should pop off and watch Brooksy, in particular, for a few months and let the boys get a bit more confident in knowing each others strengths, and weaknesses, before checking back in on their progress.

So with your expert opinion where do you see us finishing at seasons end ?
I am certain we do not finish in the top 15, let’s wait and see who’s right.

If he was offered fullback he would have come, take that as fact.
Please... Now yiur just acting silly. That's quite a point you've brought to the table near midnight on a Sunday evening... I would've thought we'd hear about this way way earlier if it were legit

Theres no need to get so wound up over a forum debate

We have enough on our plate to worry about than the OK players we have... Lot more areas require a lot more urgency

I reckon he will go and who could blame him.
I think Benji could be wrong about clubs not being able to talk to Stefano until November? Origin and our chances of making the finals will be collecting dust in David Middleton’s library well before November.
makes sense he could go to Wahs, he was born there wasn’t he? And Webster is doing a great job, too bad he wasn’t good enough for us.

Zac Lomax would have signed with us to play fullback, but we did not offer that as we already have our saviour.
Good luck waiting for it to happen.
I have a feeling Gutherson will move to left centre and Lomax will play fullback.

Parramatta has been talking about this for years, (moving Gutho, as he's slowing down and they want a rockstar fullback).

Surprised the media aren't pushing this narrative. Lomax isn't coming to play wing and Penisini is their golden boy.

Great attacking sides don't necessarily win matches - cue Cowboys. Our attack is a work in progress but it's our defence that will keep us in matches. Our only hope against any strong side is too defend well and limit errors - that is how we improve. It will be the same against the Broncos who are a superior outfit to ours and odds on will beat us and probably convincingly - you don't have to be a genius to identify the difference in strengths between the two sides -but if we want any chance it will be all about our defence.

I simply want to support a team that can make the top 8 occasionally, rather than constantly collecting Wooden Spoons.
Last year most blamed the halves, we’ve totally overhauled the halves and surprise surprise we are still clearly the worst attacking team in the NRL
Our halves combination is what 4 games in and your expecting them to be a polished product. In addition to this is Galvin is just back from suspension?
I agree we need outside backs and Richo has spoken about this, hence my disappointment on not chasing Slomax or Shiller! Can’t be waiting 2-3 years for Large and Makaski to come through!!

The Bula argument is a funny one.

If Bula is the 17th best fullback in the NRL (I disagree with this btw), then do we have another fullback at the club in the top 16?

If not, then why would we move him?

You're right, He's not 17th.... He's probably in the mid 20's....
Manu, Munster, Hughes, Brimson - All very capable and decidedly better Fullbacks at this point.

Manu would be the best if he played there regularly. One of the busiest players in that position I have ever seen.
