The system doesn’t work when the people who are supposed to be running it constantly make the same mistakes.
Additionally, it’s a poor system if it is so easily derailed, but it’s a work in progress so that can be excused somewhat.
We were on top in every facet. That’s when you become ruthless. People are sick of pressure relief valves letting opposition back into games.
We desperately need a proper captain in this squad. Someone who will hold people to account and dress them down as required.

I get your point but the system failed when Api was binned - it didn't fail because we went away from it. We definitely need to work on how to defend with 12 but we are still coming together as a team. I agree that we need to be ruthless; but, hard to do with one in the bin. Api definitely needs to be better with his discipline.

It is not just the Captains that are at fault it is the entire leadership group that need to step up!

I think Doueihi has been watching the Madden replays on how to manage a game.
Attacked from outside Luai [@ 5/8 or centre position] kicked good high bombs or to grass spaces - and deep.
Play it in their half. A top performance that should get better.
OR Benji has finally seen the light at last and instructed him to play the percentage game plan.

He played more like a halfback tonight than he ever has. Did.a good job. A few things to work on still. Can’t set up for a field goal with a play the ball inside the ten. Ran twice when he should have passed that I saw. He’s had a great start to the year.

I know you want stability in your team but against the sharks if api is suspended i'd seriously consider luai at hooker with madden at 7.

Luai isn't playing close to his $1.2M price tag, at hooker he could sure up the defense in the middle and he has a short kicking game. It's not the worst idea?

Jahream Bula off with a left shoulder injury - fairly textbook shoulder instability mechanism landing on outstretched arm.

Same shoulder (left) he injured last week in similar circumstances - came into the game with shoulder heavily strapped/braced. Quite an immediate example of the “ticking time bomb” nature of these injuries, recurrence risk is high after shoulder subluxations/dislocations.

If confirmed recovery possibilities vary greatly - best case rehab & return within weeks (but with elevated re-injury risk), worst case reconstruction surgery & 3-5 months recovery. Provided damage on scans isn’t too bad players will opt to roll the dice with re-injury risk & attempt to delay surgery til the offseason.

It’s certainly a different team this year, a very controlled, solid hard fought win.

Lots of good performances, everyone played a role.

His passing is poor under fatigue. It becomes loopy and slow, plus he sometimes takes a couple of steps before passing. It’s part of the reason our red zone attack isn’t great. I’d love to have a pacey, running hooker come on and play 25 to 30 minutes when Royce and Sione come on.

That was a better effort from the halves tonight, actually at times dug into the line and provided depth at last.

Still running into dead ends at times but improving.

Don't you love a big guy scoring a try, Royce has good toe for a prop.

Latu and madden maybe but geez if one of them get injured at 9 our depth is stuffed for halves.
Doubt AD plays a full season injury free
