LIVE GAME Round 8 v Raiders

Live Game Discussion
Absolutly pathetic hey. I get a week no problem. But 3 weeks, if he fights it and loses its 4 weeks. To put that in perspective thats half what Mam got and he was drunk high driving and caused an accident that nearly killed a woman and a child. The N.R.L are that braindead that in their infinite wisdom to improve the comp and brand they have a team who have perennially been treading water for 15 years. We are finally now 2nd on the ladder, selling out home games with one of the biggest fan bases in the comp if not the biggest. They decide to put a line through our most influencial player thinking this is what the game needs, thisll improve the brand. Absolute lunacy. Again one week and 10 in the bin i thinks more than fair. 3 - 4 weeks is absolute insanity.

I was taking to a kid at the pub I swear some are from a different planet they can not change a car tyre or top up the radiator but know alot about technology

The more I learn about it this chat TP I think it's called why not let a computer hand down the sentence feed it information set the rules and let decide

My messages mite get sloppy from here for today finally back to the pub and have downed almost two litres of beer in 40 minutes it's so good to be back and on Tuesday off to the heart specialist can not wait life's good

Hope pulled from NSW Cup team tomorrow. Next man up.
has to be Hope, he has been on the bench as an emergency reserve for Api most games...would have got reps at training and in the pre-season. I'm actually happy for the bloke to be given a chance (prefer he wasn't needed though). We have enough creative players to adjust our game and cover the loss of Api in attack. Hope will need a spell though so I'm more interested in what that might look like. Hopefully not Sione at 9.

There must be loading for his prior offences because on the face of it, it deserved 2 games max.

But the fact that Api's hipdrop and SuA's horrific shoulder charge to the head last week attract the same suspension are a damning indictment on the NRL judiciary system.
I personally think you should also get some credit if you have spent 10 in the bin. I don't think it comes into consideration at all.

You're a champion Odessa would love to have a drink with you

I have to mention how good I thought Pole was last night,
I know he doesn’t play the minutes of T.May but his go forward last night was the reason we were on the front foot.
Plus his defence which I have criticised in the past is so much better as well this year.
Keeping him to 20 minute spells is the trick.

Doueihi is one of the from halves of the competition. It was an inspired decision by Marshall to put him in the 7 and keep him there. His retention was a masterstroke.

I could wear Api's suspension if all refs adjudicated the same way, but sadly Klein uses his bible rather than his brain. It might come down to Api having to change his tackling technique, but whichever way you look at it there was no intention to harm. If Klein referees Origin like that and someone like Cleary misses a match because of his inability to judge according to differing circumstances there will be hell to pay.
Unfortunately every team is penalised differently, im happy to stand corrected but didn't the penrith hooker only get one week for a hip drop that ended the aponents season

I'm going to some up the game & the effort in 3 points:-

1) Raiders COULD NOT score against our 13 ........it took a sin binning for them to even look like scoring, since when has that happened?

2) When a big reserve forward like Hunt can run what near 40m to score putting a huge step on the "more agile" defender, your team is in a VERY good place!

3) When was the last time you heard or saw a Wests Tigers team behind at the break slap on 4 unanswered tries in the 2nd half to beat the former minor premier from the previous season decidedly?

So how would Hope playing 40, Madden playing 40 in 20 min intervals go with Api out?

I don't believe Api should have even been penalised let alone suspended, but they are punishing anything that even looks like a hip drop now & the penalties are inconsistent.

I know Madden isn't a 9, but that being said Doueihi isn't a 7 either yet look how that's going.

Exact same against the Broncs last week. Theres a discrepancy between when teams are being told to release players. Might be something new in the rules im not sure but its noticable.
I'm guessing the top teams profile the refs so they have a heads up on what to expect each week. Maybe that was why we had Badger on the books, but he didn't last for long.

With the current pace of the game all teams are struggling with 12. We need to get better for sure in two areas. Discipline and our 12 man defence. Having said that the first try was simply coming back against the grain to a defence that was overcommitted to teh shift. This was probably because this is where we were burnt by Parra. The second had nothing to do with 12 men, it was poor first contact from AD if I recall.
They actually practice quite a bit with 12 or less defenders, it's been part of their season. I remember either Adam or Romey mentioning it in a pre season interview.

They need to keep practicing or changing what they are doing when down a player.

Everyone practices it - and I think after being burnt by Parra in the same corner twice we were expecting Canberra to take the saem approach and overcommitted the cover (scramble). Bula was already well over that way and the rest of the inside pressure was heading in that direction fast. Coming back agaisnt the grain for the first try was quick fast dude V props - no real contest. AD simply missed his assignment for the second - we could have had 13 on the paddock and that would have been scored.

Like many in our side he works tirelessly at his job and gets it done without always standing out. I can guarantee we would soon notice the difference if he wasn't there.
