T’oa would have been our starting centre round 2 had he not been injured, I’d say it’s just benji sticking to his guns similar to Douehi & Luai

I'm content with giving Toa a crack, we have seen that he can be very good, so we might see some of it.

I would suggest it is the opposite - Benji is confident in the halves pairing of AD and Luai. We need consistency in the halves to provide the attack guidance and if this is what we trained for all off season this makes the most sense now.

I was all for AD to 13 over the off season - but he has not trained in or developed his body for that role so I think that boat has well and truly sailed.

Jock and Latu will get plenty of opportunities throughout the year.

Very surprised to see Toa ahead of Herbert.

Has he played Cup this year? How did he go if he did?

I like the call with Makasini. I hope the communication with him was good though. You might start seeing articles like Makasini was made scapegoat etc..

I don't mind the Latu call either.

I still feel Madden should start ahead of either AD or JL, but it's a tough decision, not right or wrong.

Another pressure game, are we favourites again?

I dont mind the Latu call if he thinks Latu is ready for an 80min performance and gives him a couple of games in KOE at 7. I feel like his short stints in 1st grade are not beneficial for his development. He is our long term 7, let him rip and tear in KOE.
Watched a bit of Toa in cup, didnt set the world on fire, was just solid. With KPP inside and Turuva outside that could ignite him.

I think Makasini will be rested if Herbert & Skelton in the 22 rather him dropped completely.

They both punch above their weight. Luke was probably our best meter eating back before his suspension and Turuva has been one of our most consistent and reliable players

they’ve sent in Mr I Hate the Tigers to sort that out.

Harsh call on both Makasini and Latu

Assume it’s to give Latu more minutes than being a bench warmer.

Makasini needs a rest period, the kid is 18 and taken NRL full on effort wise, with each game you could see him running out of puff even his speed on the edge was sluggish. He will be back before we know it, the kid is class.

Oh wow didn't notice Latu being dropped. Not a huge fan of that. He's too talented to not be in the 19.

With all due respect L, I can’t remember the last time Star was “ actually healthy “.
Played that blinder v the Cows ages ago but it always seems to be a case of woulda, coulda, shoulda. And then he’s injured, always niggly stuff coz he never puts his body on the line.
I still amazed he got the contract extension he did. He must have compromising photos of the coach or management !
With all that said I would love him to put egg on my face and play a blinder ! But I just can’t see it and those young Canberra backs are hard to handle !

Agreed waste of interchange. Same as Herbert on bench . Seems benji doesn't trust his halves or Toa ?

Would prefer Jock to start he seems to straighten our attack. I think dhoui and lui run sideways to much for my liking

Latu in Reserves is simply about playing Raiders this week. They have a big strong pack who have absolutely dominated us for years so we can’t carry 2 halves on the bench.
If we don’t win the battle at the ruck and in the middle their backs will have too much room and prove too fast for us. We need to win field position and possession and score points when we get our chances.

Why not name Bunty then ? We have been dominant in the forwards but struggling in the red zone so axing latu makes no sense to me at all
