I was worried it cost us the game though, when Klemmers tape stuck to the ball and caused the error in the play the ball towards the end.

The extra tape did catch Klemmer out late in the game when he went to play the ball and the tape on his wrist stuck to the ball resulting in a lost ball at the play the ball. He subsequently ripped off the tape on that wrist.

If you watch the game again our last play options were pretty diabolical 50% of the time

We were lucky to have two try saving tackles where they dropped the ball

Plus we out enthused them and they had a shocker

Those things don’t always happen in a game

Anyone thinking brooks is now the messiah is in for a very long disappointing season of one up and 5 downs

He was average for 50% of the game

Correct.. When yiu line up all. Those poor 5th tackle options next to the good yardage kicks, repeat set or 2 and the 40/20s...its adequate... Long way to go but something to build on
Stef's hit up with 6.20 left on the clock, is one of the best hit ups I've seen from a Tigers forward for awhile 🥰

Hope we don't over analyse the game facts are 90 % completion
Only 5 errors in that weather is remarkable skill by the whole team
The tactic of keep it simple risk free in that pouring rain was the correct one

We still had sets when no-one knew what was going on and the ball just went sideways for the sake of it and we still failed to get a kick away on the sixth on a couple of occasions.

I don’t think our end of set options were too bad considering we forced 4 line dropouts, not to mention Brooks’ try assist. (Four line dropouts is pretty good for us.)

There were two occasions when we didn’t kick on the 5th. The first time Brooks passed to the centre who took the tackle 5 metres out and a few metres in from touch. Seemed a deliberate strategy to me. Even Blocker noted “Don’t think they mind turning the ball over there’.

The second time IPap was tackled on the 5th around 5 metres out and Tupou (I think) threw a terrible pass at Brooks’ feet. He half-volleyed the ball and was swamped by the defence.

The game that I watched was won by our forwards supported by a quality performance by Brooks and solid defence from our backs when Penrith tried to shift the ball.

I agree with that, but it is a truism that forwards win matches. I’m sick of our forwards winning the stats but the team loses the match. This time Brooks broke the game open with his 40/20s and his try assist.

Take Brooks out of the team and we win the stats but lose the match.

The defence and completions was awesome. As much as I like Doueihi and Laurie ..if they were playing in a tight game like that , I couldn’t see us winning it.
