Rowdy is currently on Sportsfan Clubhouse the Channel 73 show

Said he expects to be back for Warriors game

Was only a twinge to his hammy

Never heard of that show. Is it any good?

Still keen to see if he can get back some form in a team playing with some structure and some attacking forwards/fullback on the edges.

They usually have an NRL and AFL player each episode along with a female sportperson , its ok looks at some of the funnier sides of sport , does polls on issues surrounding both codes etc

They had a shot at Rowdy's hammy a couple of times

He should be forced to come back through NSW Cup and get his match fitness and speed back there rather than in the NRL squad!

The Warriors game is less than 2 weeks from now, how could he lose his match fitness that quickly?

he cant, stupid idea. he'll slot back into the starting side if he isn't rushing it to get back

stupid idea? the guy has a suspect hammy which repeatedly gives him grief, and you think it would be stupid to test it in a game scenario. You are talking like he is some lynch pin in our FG side, he isnt anymore unfortunately. If Lulia and Simona have solid games in his absence he really doesnt have too much of a case for a rushed return based on form, well at least not one without match testing his hamstring. If it plays up in the FG game again there is much more at stake than just his personal health.

I may sound like I hate the guy, but I really dont. It is that if we are to truly honest about being a professional club, it isnt a risk we should take lightly. Injuries happen all the time and always will, but it would be amateur hour to have a player who is basically performing at the average squaddy level out there without diligently testing him, while we have other players holding their own and proven match fit.

Now returning in a couple of weeks is a bit odd, considering he has just had the whole off season to get right this same scenario happened last season ,my view on this is there is a problem and obviously can not be rectified. It seems to be chronic l

When was the last time he was match fit? I'd say sometime in 2012 perhaps. He was physically useless last year.

Round 1 he was on the field. Touched the ball 3 times, was practically a statue. Round 2 he goes off injured after 15 mins.

He needs to work on his speed, agility and aggression. He hasn't had this in years. He's coming back from several serious injuries and his confidence must be down. Let him run around in a strong NSW Cup side for a few weeks, and if he is a stand out he gets his spot back and is hopefully confident in his ability to sprint, turn sharply etc.

It's his best bet for his future, yet because he's been around for ages and formerly played for the Kangaroos he's an automatic pick for NRL as long as he's not on crutches?

Oh dear, I really do hope this bloke can get back to somewhere near normal. I agree that he does appear to be somewhat injury prone, and can understand that he has lost his confidence.
I think it would be a great idea for him to play in the NSW Cup for a few weeks, there are some jolly good players in there, so he wouldn't be out of place, and he wouldn't be under quite so much pressure. Good Luck Chris 😛ray:
