OFFICIAL Royce Hunt #298

May cannot keep playing 80min something has to give. Another prop and backrower both can play decent min and have a high work rate and effort.
May looked tired against the Cowboys. He is still there at every play but the impact is tapering off with each passing week. Considering we just had a bye, that is worrying. Think he needs to be playing 60-65 minutes.

where did i say he has no say you peanut?????? i said he’s the head coach not head of recruitment. he’s not 100% at fault for lack of depth in a squad. there’s a reason people are employed solely to identify and bring talent in otherwise fmd benji may as well do everything else in the club too. he’ll be running the canteen next. lighten up we’re begging you 🤣
You don’t know what you are talking about.
This is Benjis roster. He has had final say on recruitment since 22.

False.

Benji wasn't coaching in 22
He was an assistant in 23

Only 24 and 25 are Benji's, unless you have proof of otherwise you need to let up on this narrative.

Kimmorley was the stand in coach for the last part of 2022 and while Benji wasn’t coach, I seem to recall reports that he was in recruitment mode phoning players. The fedora had organised a recruitment list committee with himself (naturally), Sheens and Benji plus a couple of antagonists from the boards. One of his first calls was Munster.
Sure it’s a tad unfair to label the 22 squad as his but from that time he supposedly had final call.
As Sheens stated quite clearly, “nobody gets recruited without Benji’s approval.”
With that level of authority you’d imagine this current squad is Benji’s and the on field results are Benji’s.

Its like putting a learner driver in charge of leading an F1 team

Sheens was probably protecting himself knowing that the blame could all fall back on Benji if it went wrong

I don’t know? I thought at the time that it was best practice. I mean, if you’re gonna judge a coach on results then allow him to make the decisions which affect those results. Give him the tools he needs to achieve his goals.
I think our main problem with recruiting is corporate sponsorship. That, and the $50 bosses.

When he and Sheens came on in 2022, they spent the remainder of that season planning for their tenure commencing in 23.
They valued this over stopping the march towards our first ever spoon, throwing Noddy to the wolves.
From day dot, Sheens, Lee, Pascoe all said that every retention and recruitment decision was going through Benji as he was the one signed on for 5 years, therefore he was getting the team he wanted.
To now sit back almost 3 years later and claim “poor Benji doesn’t have the cattle” is misleading. To also state he doesn’t have the depth is misleading.
This is his roster.

Is an impact player who performs well when you have other good middle forwards to cover minutes in the rotation.

We don't. Behind May, Pole & Twal, there is no one. Bird as a middle forward is a joke

Hunt has to be carrying some sort of niggle.

There’s no way a professional rugby league prop can churn out 1 run in 10 minutes of football and call that a day.

Something a bit fishy there

Remember when those here told us, He was better than Stefano, Would lift his minutes and all the rest of the who har....
He came from a top 4 side (Safe to assume Top 4 are usually among the fittest in the comp)
To us - At the bottom.
Stefano is in the Origin Squad, This fella has his hands on his hips after 1 hit up.

He's only ever been a flat track bully minute man - In a good side.
A 10 minute burst coming on when his sides got all the momentum.

Lucky for us, we convinced him out of retirement with a sill contract.

From the mouth of Sheens when the coaching structure decision was made
- Every signing will be Benji's signing.
By 2025 when he takes over - It will fully be Benjis' squad.

Bateman, Naden - All of them, Benji Signings.

That’s what we’ve been saying for the past 3 years!!!!
Everything involved with the appointment of Marshall as coach was retarded and so many people got behind the decision it wasn’t funny.
He was setup to fail, and fail he has done.
It annoys me for a couple of reasons but number 1 is that I am a Marshall fan. He still is my favourite player.

And where are they?

Benji was a rookie at the time and it was his first time at the rodeo.

Would you agree that the recruitment in the offseason was one of the best in the last 10 years?
