Rugby League Week to be killed off

Magazines and Newsagencies as a whole are a dying breed , the only profitable side is Golden Casket and even this is under attack

Really dissapointed. I had just renewed my subscrioption for another 36 issues the day before (magshop refunded me straight away which was good of them). Love getting home of a Wednesday to open the mailbox and sit down with the weekly issue - a good break from the kiddlywinks haha

Bauer Media this is the Publishers that Maria Go was the manager of.

Yeah, they purchased the old ACP magazines,Kerry & Frank will be spinning.
The old RLW format was good, used to buy it in the 1970's to get all the latest goss.,Peters and Hartley used to base their radio show on RLW articles.
Go. has certainly gone to ground, hardly ever see her name mentioned in the sporting or social pages the last few Months.

Big League will be next. The internet has made magazines obsolete. Tv will be next.

thats pretty spot on. already everything is heading towards streaming.

Haha, the old Westside Football! The WAFL was great back in those days, used to love it as a kid. Which team did you support back then mate?

Meh, the woman's day of rugby league. Big League was always much better, but not many people buy hard copy mags these days anyway

Ha ha. Not the place you expect someone to remember Westside Football!
Was a huge Demons fan as a kid. Don't remember 1976-1977 (was 4-5) and they haven't won a flag since!!!
You?

Swan Districts. Had a few great years in the early 80's with 3 flags in a row but I was mainly there for the pies and chips as a little tacker! My grandparents were big Demons supporters, don't follow it much (if at all) these days but would be great if the Demons crack it for a premiership soon. The AFL-aligned WAFL clubs have got such a big advantage now it is a joke.

With the price of magazines now that is not surprising. Used to buy surfing mags but those things are up around $12 an issue now for some of them, its insane.
