With today marking one year until #RWC2027 kicks off, here's a reminder of the different pools

WOW!

Champion @happy_tiger, but maybe for me, it's a Parramatta thing seeing the Eels haven't won a premiership since 1986 as well ....
I used to enjoy watching Union

I couldn't remember the last time I watched a game of Union .....

Timmy Horan was my favourite player growing up

Would of loved to see him switch to League ......reckon he would of become one of the best centres in that era

I don’t understand the Wallabies. One week they’re demolishing the Springboks then they’re torn apart by the ABs the next two.
Was at last night’s game. After nz got their 2 try you could tell they were a class above.
Passes going to a players running onto the ball at speed
Generally shorter passes that 💯 hit their mark
Those are the 2 things that set them apart last night imo.
Wallabies had a few chances and if a few passes went to hand it would of been a tighter game
Wonder if the players feel a mental burden given no winning history

I’m surprised to see that Union still draws such big crowds.
I’m not a regular viewer and never have been, but there was a stretch of time where bandwagoners like me knew who the players were in the team….your Gregan’s, Larkham’s, Eale’s, Smith’s etc. We would tune in to see a team hold their own against the world - even be the best for a little while. That brought large audiences.
I watched part of that game last night, never heard of 95% of them, including the captain. From an outsiders perspective it appears there’s now a revolving door of private school educated people standing inline to take their promised turn like it’s their birthright. Surely these guys are not the best players available? Surely there are better options being overlooked because they are not in “the club”?
These guys will be embarrassed in next years World Cup. They have a lot to work on in a very short amount of time it seems.

I started playing club rugby in the gregan era and knew a few current and semi recognised some aswell.Don’t watch much in general nowadays but the wife wanted to go thinking they would be competitive after the springboks game.
The private school Monica has always been there and I’m sure won’t get watered down either imo. But in saying that there’s is some decent players in that side.
Even before the score catipulted they really lacked composure and seemed like they were chasing points
The all blacks are just a cut above any national team and have always been.
Was talking to a kiwi dad at a league gala day our sons were playing in about 6 years ago and his view
kids play for their school and not the town and this is why they will always have a strong national side. Regardless of how good or bad the coaching they get it’s like a school subject- exposure always there as opposed to something 1/3 of them do on the weekends.
I don’t know if the facts are true but it was a casual conversation so I don’t doubt what he said
