*Rumor* big announcement regarding Jarryd Hayne imminent

Thats great news, now we have a chance to beat the eels, Hayne always seemed to beat us on his own. lol
will in all be a great lost to the game, been serious.

I'm not sure if Hayne understands how tough it is out here in the US for an Aussie. The lifestyle is different and you become sick of people asking you to say all sorts of words like you're a circus attraction. I'm willing to bet he'll be back in 12 months.

Irrespective of whether he signs with us, my understanding is Teddy cannot sign with anyone else. Its a condition of pulling out from the Raiders.

That is not true….the Raiders contract was never ratified ir registered with the NRL.....

Now that I've had a chance to read the stories and such my thoughts are good on him. He is going to have to work for a contract, he's not walking straight into a side which shows he is willing to work for it… It may be part of the allure for him. There's no promises and he is doing what his heart wants. I admire people who take the risk.

He's a great player and if he can get the hang of the game there's no telling where he'll end up. If it doesn't work out, he will always be welcome back, be it with Parramatta or someone else.

It is scariest for the NRL if Hayne kills it… ($3m pa would meet this definition)

It opens up more competition for players.

I can't wait to watch him play.

What do they ask you to say?

Congrats to hayne, a gutsy gutsy move…risking everything

Well kept secret

My sister frequents the US, they do get quite affixed with Aussie accents for some reason and you get plenty of attention.

She told me once a shop assistant was following her around badgering her to say the number "eight" because they thought it was funny.

NRL's Reaction

DAVE SMITH REACTS TO HAYNE’S DECISION
NRL News
THE NRL have expressed their disappointment in Jarryd Hayne’s decision to leave the game to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL.
>
NRL CEO Dave Smith says he, like every rugby league fan is upset the game will no longer feature one of its best players but takes solace in the fact that money had no bearing on Hayne’s decision.
>
“This is one of those clear cut cases where I would have been happy to use my marquee player discretion to try to keep Jarryd in the NRL,” Smith said.
>
“In fact, I was in contact with Jarryd, his manager and the Eels management last night and this morning to see if there was anything we could do to keep him in the game.
>
“But Jarryd has a dream and he deserves the chance to pursue that dream.
>
“He is a gifted athlete who has been a wonderful asset for Rugby League and we wish him well in his next challenge.”
>
Smith also revealed that Hayne would certainly be welcome back if things don’t pan out in America.
>
“In the meantime, I have no doubt new stars will come through the ranks to replace those leaving the game,” he said.
>
“One of the great things about the NRL is that there is always exciting new talent coming through the ranks to become the superstars of the future.”

Basically…MEH

Haha….my ex g/f was filipno and they have an american influence there, and it flows into their accents a bit.
She used to pee herself laughing whenever I said "wine"

Can Hayne come back and play Origin every year for the Blues  ,Big hole to fill there .
Moylan would have to be the Front Runner you'd think?

Beat me to it. If Teddy had remained on the park this year he may well have found himself in a kangaroos jersey!
