Can Hayne come back and play Origin every year for the Blues  ,Big hole to fill there .
Moylan would have to be the Front Runner you'd think?

May be Tedesco.

Beat me to it. If Teddy had remained on the park this year he may well have found himself in a kangaroos jersey!

No doubt, especially with the way it's all panned out.

Congratulations Jarryd - you gotta follow your dreams, you only have one shot at life. And the NRL will still be here if it doesn't work out.

good on him for making such a courageous decision, but i really cant see any position in nfl he would be better than the thousands upon thousands of guys over there who have been working towards it their whole playing lives.
pretty much any position i can think of he could possibly play he is way behind what is out there. as a running back he is not the sort of rushing, low centre of gravity, tackle busting type, nor is he fast enough to be used in the way teams would a wide receiver back there. punt returning is also very different to kick returns in the nrl. again, he isnt as fast as a devon hester, et al.
only position i could see him with any chance at all is free or strong safety as someone else (happy?) said, but then those guys are speed freaks as well. only strong point for him in that position would be he can tackle. another thing is how incredibly harsh the refs are with pass interference and flags in general, he would have a very hard time adjusting to.

again, kudos for having a go, and i would love to be able to sit here and watch him playing in the nfl, but realistically i cant see him playing in the super bowl any time.

My sarcasm meter is broken Geo… Can't tell if you're being fair dinkum or not.

I have no doubt it was a tough decision to make. Yeah fair enough he has Parra to fall back on but it is still a huge unknown. I genuinely believe his heart is torn between two places. If he had a multi-million dollar contract already on the table to run off to we could all accuse him of SBW-esque treason, but he is going to test himself. It's a risk, even if he does have a lucrative deal here at the end of it.

I dare say the NRL have taken this with both hands to promote our brand into the US market. If they haven't, they're bloody idiots!

My sister frequents the US, they do get quite affixed with Aussie accents for some reason and you get plenty of attention.

She told me once a shop assistant was following her around badgering her to say the number "eight" because they thought it was funny.

Haha….my ex g/f was filipno and they have an american influence there, and it flows into their accents a bit.
She used to pee herself laughing whenever I said "wine"

I have a mate whose father married an indigenous Filipino lady and she very much has a heavy American twang.

For some reason the Spanish descendants don't.

I can see the NRL marquee player allowance getting misused in the seasons to come. If only I was a player manager.

Sam who?
Sonny Bill who?
Jarryd who?

I certainly don't wish ill of Hayne but who really cares.

Sad to see Jarryd go, but if anyone in the NRL has the ability to make it over there, it's probably him. I wish him all the best, but he's a huge loss to the game.

Dugan at fullback, Morris and Jennings in the centres

Well some athletes really want to test their boundaries and how far they can go…

Best of luck to him I'm sure he will find out the true meaning of TOUGH.....

If anyone thinks NFL is tougher than Nrl you're kidding you're self . I'd love to see them make 40-50 tackles a game & play without the pads.

They're 10 times the athletes are in any code in Australia and weigh 100kg's more.

They make 1 play then have a break could you see 160kg blokes making 20-30-40 tackles? I mean if there such great althletes geez they stop a lot You underestimate our Rugby League players . I've never been caught up in this hyped up game typical overrated yank crap . But I do wish Hayne all the best he's a freak so fast & fit. Only thing I'm worried about is it will take him too long to learn the game.

Mate, watch some footage of Desean Jackson, then get back to me and tell me how many league players could do the kind of stuff he can.

I've lived in America and I can tell you now, NFL football is such a pussy sport compared to league. They consider league "UFC with a ball" and they think it's absolutely absurd that we play without any sort of pads on.
