ive got a funny feeling that all the talk about us signing tuqiri,lima and cayless is just that,talk.Whats the bet that all three choose not to come to the tigers.That way our recruitment department can say that they put in a massive effort to sign marquee players, but ,unfortunately ,couldnt seal the deal.Then we're left chasing after the players left over,same as any other year.I hope i'm wrong,i'd love to see these 3 at the tigers.

the longer the saga of lote, jason and jeff drags on without an official anouncement from the tigers,the less confidence i have that any of them will be here next year.more smoke and mirrors from wt recruitment.
Why is it smoke and mirrors? Why can't it just be that we were outmaneuvered or unable to match the terms that were offered elsewhere. Why do some people have to put the most cynical and negative slant on everything? It's depressing and unjustified. The change that come over a large proportion of our fans over the last 2 years is a bigger disappointment than missing out on the finals.
Nothing is ever good enough and the club is never doing anything positive. It's absurd and boring.

The fact is we should know where our problems lie and recruit accordingly. We have consistently failed to do so, and as yet have yet to rectify this for next season. Surely we have the right to criticse poor management. I sure hope we sign all 3 of those guys because we need all 3 of them to make the finals otherwise it might be just another 9th place for us next year.
The one things which might save us next year is that we actually have a good crop of kids coming through for once. Kids that actually have the potential to go on to play for NSW or Australia. This may cover up for the failed recruitment strategies of our management.
I'm fed up with the unbridled enthusiasm some people have towards the team. Yes we do good work in the community, but that comes second to onfield performance to me!

hey timmyb and hbom,i respect your opinions,but,the way player recruitment and retention is being handled with our club is disgraceful.todays signing of jason cayless is a huge step in the right direction.having said that ,the decision not to offer brett hodgson a contract for 2009 was a masterstroke of stupidity,have a look at his esl season.the club offered his best replacement, shannon gallant , a one year contract.we know where he's heading next year.now we have fitzhenry coming back,add to that a host of lower graders signed from other clubs,when we have plenty of them in our two feeder clubs and the nyc.we cannot live on 05 forever
