Actually totally forgot about this one

Was sitting round the pool at Capricornia Resort on the weekend and talking footy to the bloke beside me and when we started talking about our teams he mentioned that he heard that Benny Elias want to be involved in the Perth bid in some way ?? Said he read a news article about it Anyone seen anything ??

Yeah I think it got mentioned in the NRL expansion thread in the NRL section. Some businessman (the guy behind Perth Glory I think) was also backing it.

My mate who knows Lote saw him in Balmain Christmas week and he was telling them that his arm is in pretty bad form, but my mate couldnt remeber if it was the same one he already damaged or his other arm. Pretty sure he may or needed another op but he should be okay from the early rounds if not round 1 of the season.
 
Contrary to reports from T-Rexxx, who I am first to admit is usually always on the money, I again today heard that Lote is in doubt to take his place in the 17 for the first part of the season.
My source is linked with the club also. My source said it's a Taniela Tuiaki situation all over again. I asked if he could play with injections and my source said no.
 
That sucks. I hope he doesn't try to rush it and play injured, if he needs to wait until later in the season to return I hope he takes it.

Grant or Koroibete might be in with a shot if Lote misses a few weeks. I know Utai will probably get the gig, but I'd prefer to give a genuine speedster with a bit of x-factor a go. Rowdy knows how to set up his outside man better than just about any other centre running around. No harm in setting up a player who can cover the length of the field in 11 seconds.

How good would that be… Its just that Lote is such an intimidating factor out there, the opposition defence dont have the luxury of simply focusing on Rowdy. From all reports Grant is a pretty big unit also, so lets hope we dont get stuck with the 'Slug in the Mud'! 😛ray:

Well he's taller and faster than Lote. He's 105kg too, so he's got enough size to be damaging out wide. Where the real question lies though, is does he have the natural instincts and talent of someone like Lote? I think if Grant gets put in he clear, he won't have any trouble scoring a try. It will be all the little things that add up, like defensive positioning, knowing when to come in, when to hold back, turn and chase etc. If he's got the right instinct, he'll learn fast. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.
 
Lote had a clot in his arm but it is going fine and as long as his fit will be ready to play the trials.

Is he taking Woolfren for that? Hopefully he's good to go for round 1, would really love to see him back in full flight this year.
