I think it would be better that next years captain has played for the club prior to being named captain. In my view it will need to be either ET or Lawrence if he plays Firsts. Maybe even Kevvie as he has done well with Fiji.

Agreed. This probably leaves ET in the Captain position. Otherwise Lawrence would have to start.

Interesting scenario putting that out there… I can only assume that Cleary isnt set on his best starting team as yet and will wait until a week or two before the season to finalise his decision.

For me, the obvious choice is Chris Lawrence as being the Club Captain. But maybe he isnt guaranteed a starting spot?

I'd guess that would be the case. I am a huge fan of Rowdy but IMO he doesn't feature in our strongest 13.

I am fine with Lawrence being club captain but i would not have him in our top 17.There is nothing wrong with a "club" captain playing reggies.
