Russell Packer - What Now

Just regarding ET for a moment - coz he cops quite a bit of criticism on here...Perhaps I'm the only one who saw a noticeable change in him after his stint in the CC. It was towards the latter end of the season when Madge brought him back into the team, I thought he played really tough and put in 110% whilst on the field. He tackled hard and wrestled well in D, and even made some tough runs and good metres (certainly an area lacking in his previous games) looking dangerous with the ball at times. When it comes down to effort levels and work rate - he's certainly not the worst in our forward options.

As for Packer - we don't know what the real problem is do we? Perhaps he has carried a serious injury for some time and is really struggling to train and play. We hear that he has a problem with Madge? Maybe he is just bludging and taking advantage of his position and contract. Somehow, I would like to think that he is a person with a little more desire to achieve than that, and I am more inclined to think that once fully fit, he will be back in the mix and fighting for a front row spot.

You aren't the only one. ET was one of our best on the run home.

I would not be righting Packer off just yet....sought his injury, lose a bite of weight in combination with a good off season and who knows !

@happy_tiger You would need to have De Belin sprung from jail each weekend. 🚔🚔🚔

Listening to James Maloney today. He was asked who was the smartest player. He said Russell Packer. I just checked Russell’s LinkedIn profile and he has an MBA. I thought that was interesting and something I didn’t know.

He represents all the players in their union as well, he’s super smart and really well respected by the other players.

Packerlino 100% fit are still useless, let's be honest they're past it

You do realise Matulino retired last year, don't you.

So I guess you are 50% incorrect to start with.

You do realise the date of the above post was before he retired

Ooops he said with a red face.

Should have gone to bed hours ago obviously.

If Packer is picked for the game against the Panthers, Nathan Cleary should watch himself. I could totally see Packer picking up an all time suspension. He was really mad when that guy who now coaches the Panthers walked out on us. Jr is his spitting image, Packer will be seeing red.

BTW James Hooper, if you read this, ↑ there is your story for the week. Assuming he gets picked.
