Packer has to go

If he’s not going to play another game, absolutely he does. Doesn’t look like there are many takers though.

Toe injury similar to Foran - having surgery and won't play again this year

Friggin unbelievable. Pretty sure that would kill any interest from other teams for next season. We're stuck with him by the sounds of it.

Has anyone considered the following possibilities? (I didn't see them mentioned above, in relation to the DT article).

Perhaps Tigers are saying "won't release Packer" for several reasons:

1) Need to sign another prop first, before we would consider releasing Packer. Esp if Matulino may be forced to retire.

2) Trying to motivate Packer by denying to media that we would look to trade him. Perhaps Madge does think Packer ultimately has value, on Madge's terms.

3) Trying to curb the recruitment noise that has invaded our middle season. Perhaps management don't really want these ongoing stories about potentially large number of player releases like Reynolds, Packer, ET, because it impacts the team performance. Perhaps this is an effect of Pascoe coming back.

4) To increase potential interest in Packer. If the other teams think you want a player to leave, they would consider themselves to be in the best bargaining position. If they think you don't want a player to leave, perhaps that is a legitimate trading strategy. It may be that Tigers think Packer is the most negotiable high-value offload we have and don't want to dilute his market value with noise that we want him gone. Certainly, if you are desperate to sell a house, you don't tell this to potential buyers!!!

We could do a straight swap for Reagan Campbell-Gillard he seems to be on the outer with that cretin coach at the foot of the mountains...Seeing as that same cretin and so called coach talked Packer into leaving the Dragons to join him and his bull💩 dream at the Tigers (the NRLs greatest con).

I don't really care as long as he leaves us and we dont pay a huge amount of his salary along the way....he is a wet log.
