Not turf toe again?

I like Madge and am in full support...

BUT...it is his job to coach players and bring the best out of them.

You can't just discard a 750 000 dollar, long term, player in the salary cap era.

If we could find a taker, okay great.

But it appears there are none.'

So, it is Madge's job to work with what he has been dealt.

Get Packer in early, extra rehab, personal trainer...whatever.

But get SOMETHING for our 750 000 a year.

Just sending him to reggies and saying "I don't want you' is not good enough.

If Packer stays, as is his right under his contract, we are stuck with a 750 000 reggie prop until 2022.

Madge can't just discard him.

Hope no one asks Robbie what his opinion is on all this... that could blow up monumentally.

Apparently Madge and Fudge not on speaking terms.

Yep, not speaking and Packer content just to see out his deal and collect his ca$h.

I like Madge, but he has to make this work. It is his job to get the best out of the players.

We simply can't just let Packer sit in reggies for three years collecting his millions.

And Packer is headstrong enough to do it.

It's a tough situation...can we actually move him on or has interest dried up for him?

If Packer is not performing to the standard of a first grade prop i.e metres, tackles, etc immaterial of whether he is in the NRL or CC teams, I think WT can make the argument Packer is breaching his contract in terms of performance expectations and seek his termination. There is no other way now.

@2005magic
But wouldn't he have to be picked in first grade regularly and be shown to not be performing? Surely there is no case to be made if he's just sent to reggies each week

Put him in CC and make him play 80 minutes every week

Worse comes to worse .....he hits form or you break him

@happy_tiger that seems bang on!! Dish up or ship out to the U.K. I thought he was super duper good at first for us and not just because of Cleary, is he carrying an injury ?

Medical retirement

Why would he ship out. He can make 650k a year just doing rehab and some training and playing a little nsw cup. He will be a retirement age in 2 yrs anyway and can focus on getting his post footy career in place.

I know i wouldnt move os to earn less or even the same money and i doubt hed even be allowed in the uk given his record so we have 2 options
1. Get him back to his best footy
2. Run without 650k on our cap for the next 2 years

Madge needs to fix it and get him back to 1st grade.

Packer threw a punch at Madge in pre season training, missed and was separated by the boys

Nofoaluma punched a trainer last season when he failed a KPI ....these things happen
