Russell Packer

Good luck to Rusty. I was excited when he first came across that he could be our pack leader and enforcer. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out as we would have liked but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

He is a good example of someone turning his life around and clearly is a positive and intelligent individual despite a very rough past.

I'm surprised he played 33 matches for the Tigers. I don't recall any of them.

Matterson ring any bells?

There was an element of sarcasm in my post. I do recall a few however most very underwhelming.

He retired years ago and has only announced it after screwing the club for every cent he could.

How so? The club screwed itself offering him 750-800k, the same way they signed Reynolds and Mbye to inflated contracts. Yet people wanna blame the players ?‍♂️

Remembering this was all Ivan's work, is it true they were all from the management team?

The grub of all grubs has finally left, time for a new decade ahead for Wests Tigers! No living in the past..

He was never a cheap-shot merchant on the field though. I'd save the grub of all grubs title for Cody Walker, Latrell, Cammy, Slater for starters.

Too many people mistake aggression for grubbiness.

As in what though? I'd rate the 4 I mentioned as grubby maggots no question.

Can't even remember the last time I saw him play.

Also can't remember ever seeing him perform well. Beside the Matterson KO.

Not a fan of Packer.
Happy to have him off the books, at last.

Been pushing for this man to be selected and I’m so glad he was, absolutely tore that pack to shreds and added much needed punch - stepped up big time tonight!

Congrats big fella, hopefully you can keep your spot in the team and prove the doubters wrong!

This is the very first post on the Russ thread...it had 27 upvotes....he was very good with Matts until injuries happened...its NRL,its a risk for the big pay packet ...at least the guy bettered himself personally and did contribute when he could...he at least has helped with the young guys ,many seem to look up to him because of his experience in the NRL...its always easy to kick someone when their down,I just hope we as human beings dont get judged as poorly as some have judged Russ when we meet our maker...

"let he who has not sinned cast the first stone"

In all fairness, all the best in retirement mate.
A few throwbacks 😂

We will always remember Russ taking one for the fans and giving it to Matto.

When he pissed through his underwear and shorts during his Warriors days

He played round 1 this year and hasn't been sighted since lol

And played 11 mins. He’d have been more prominent if Cleary had never left. Maguire never wanted a bar of him.

Can't really blame him for that haha, Russ didn't have many great games for us and we've got young forwards pushing for his spot

Got himself sin binned and just about cost us that Canberra game if I remember correctly
