Excellent short stint off the bench last night. 5 or 6 really powerful runs, with purpose + he's a good size for a prop.

I heard the Wok really rapped him post game also.

Nice work and good to see him doing well.

It's ironic that guys we cut like him and Shannon are in the Finals…and we're not.

hes only there because of injury, but he did play well. its fair to say sheens really knows nothing when it comes to props, i mean we could have lima and cashmere coming off the bench for around 200k a year combined.

Yeah Tandy was pretty good. he played a game for us last year and did nothing, but last night his runs were quite barnstorming and what's more? he hurt watmough lol

Tandy and Ray both were keen to stay…especially Cahsmere. Both would have been perfect "20 mins off the bench / start a few games" type guys.

I know Tandy is only in for injuries...but the facts are that Bellamy spotted him, rated him and gave him a chance.

Bellamy wouldn't play a guy who couldn't get the job done...especially in september.

Bellamy also spotted Jeff Lima.

Lima was a head case when he played with the tigers and then went France to escape, came back went to Brisbane where the storm picked him up.
Cashmere was offered more money than we could give him.
Tandy just wasnt in Sheens plans.

Sheens knows more about rugby league and how to coach than everyone on this board. Even though his selections can give most people a headache, he still the only coach i would have the club atm.
To say he knows nothing about props is one of the most ridiculous statement's i have heard…..when you have coached or become invloved with rugby league at a high level, come talk to me and then i will listen.

He wanted a Top 25 spot but we couldn't give him one. Remember we had to offload Fulton just to stay under the cap. We didn't have the money to give him an upgrade.

He only got a couple of games during 2008 because of our cap problems, which also lead to him leaving.

Is that you Roycie??

Tandy was the absolute standout frontrower in the state league last year. He played a couple of games in the top grade and our astute coach gave him the usual five minute game time he rewards all his no17's with. Hardly a chance to show his skills. Okay he is no world beater, but up front he is light years in front of Payne, gelea and a few others we have tried. What I find puzzling is he the sort of player that suits our flamboyant style, he has a offload, a good step and is no slouch in attack.

Anyway Sheen's has surprised us in the past and will continue to do so, probably didnt call him "coach Sheens" so was put on the black list

SC, I love the passion and the way Ryan plays , but if it's true what I heard about Ryan off field antics , no one on here would complain why Sheens didn't put him in the 25 , even if cap allowed….it's a damn pity , because Ryan would have come in handy to have at the back end of this season

Gees you'd think Ryan Tandy was the reincarnation of Artie Beetson the way he gets talked up around here. He's okay but I don't lose sleep about him playing for another team.

This year and last he has been a better prop than the dreadlocked gump that we kept that people seem to blow their wad over for no real reason.

It is not a tragedy we didn't keep Tandy but a bit of perspective if you please

Perspective is exactly what I'm getting at Smeg. Not going to argue about Laurie but I think some people overhype Tandy.
