Halfway up the mountain? We’ve been at the foot of it for the past 3 yearsGeeze, the knives are out for Benji?
Admittedly he’s had almost 2 seasons now to change the roster and coach his stamp on the team.
It’s not producing wins though. Did anyone really believe we were finals bound before the start of this season?
I would love to see Maguire with this roster, if he had stayed on and signed more players like Api, Stef and Papi we would be in the top 8 now. But we’re not!
We’re climbing a mountain here, why keep starting from the foot?? It’s never made sense to me.
We need to stick with Benji and stay on track.
I never wanted Benji from his announcement but c’mon? He’s halfway up the mountain!!! The club needs to show some leadership and support for a change!
I can hear the drums now Fernando. When we dont win with Luai here, the drums will be deafening.
Benjis wages are being paid by a sponsor, who is a friend of his and I think it was an added incentive for his initial tenure. Those talking about Benji stepping back willingly are kidding themselves
Benji would never have taken the deal if he wasn't gonna be head coach
I don't believe we are off loading Adam Doueihi, heck we renewed him... Sure a cheapie, but a cheapie who near refuses to tackle.Sacking coaches has been real successful eh?
What Richo has been trying to do, offload the "deadwood" is the right direction in my opinion.
Klemmer, Papalli'i, Douhei, Seezer, Sullivan have not performed at 1st grade level. Stef has switched off...too busy thinking of his luxury Jayco caravan, Car Sales Audi & Haines Hunter boat he's going to get at the Storm.
Our backline at its strongest can be very competitive.....most of them are kids and they are building nicely.
With some decent forward signings, Luai & Turuva coming next year & the young guys getting plenty of experience a bit earlier than optimal and there's the basis of a competitive team.
You can't coach effort, something some of our "marquee" players have sorely lacked for the last two seasons.
This is true. The only way to have experience is to get it.Yep. Some of our teenagers and other young guys are getting an education they would not be getting in reserve grade or Flegg elsewhere. Short term pain.
His debut was under Madge, yes, Rd 1 2012.Wasn’t it Madge who promoted Adam Reynolds to the top grade to replace the loss of Chris Sandow?
He’s had 2 years and they were both spoons. What coach would come now knowing that benji theoretically has only had one year
We need to stick solid imo until at least mid season next year
I see green shoots
In all honesty what coach would expect to win with some of the teams we’ve listed this year
"professional" applies to specific professions which are regulated...How does that not work….
Negligent professional behaviour - you could argue that leaving him as head coach is exactly that.
Edit - hiring 3 x mates with zero coaching experience to be out coaches IS exactly that.,.
Watch the game again...Don’t know about Panic Bandwagon i would name it the Reality Wagon.
And I couldn’t agree with your take on if we didn’t have Doueihi we would have won.
He has a lot of help from his teammates in losing games.
True, unless they sell the joint they'll always be there.Would have been signed off by HBG who basically appoint the board. They are still there, only the scapegoats have changed.
I have to agree with this. That was my take during the live game. Couldn't sleep tonight and watched the game again. Imo, 5 of their tries came directly from his bad defensive decisions.Watch the game again...
NO team can defend for 80 minutes one man short - which is what this overrated bum effectively created on every Knights attacking opportunity!
There is no 'I' in team - but two in Doueihi - and four in "narcissistic incompetent cretin"

Try watching it every week with my acute lens champ!!I have to agree with this. That was my take during the live game. Couldn't sleep tonight and watched the game again. Imo, 5 of their tries came directly from his bad defensive decisions.
The try at 12 minutes in, Douhi is jogging behind Frizell who takes the pass and crashes over the line. If he sprints to keep up, he could have taken Frizell down as soon as he catches the ball.
In the try in the 20th minute, he's way out of the line but not putting pressure on anyone because the attacking line is so deep. Since he's so far out of the line, it drags Alaimalo up and makes for an easy heads up play to kick over the top to the wing.
The try in the 30th minute is another bad read. He jams in again, this time it looks like he's covering Frizell, but he basically pushes across in front of Galvin who already has Frizel covered. That creates an overlap and there's not much Alaimalo can do.
The try on half time, he slides in after Galvin comes out of the line but appears to only have eyes for Gagai. It's as if he's taken by surprise that Ponga catches the ball behind Gagai. In any other game, Ponga knocks on at that point, but Douhi should have been ready to cover the player out the back. Special shout out here to Seyfarth as he's the only player in the defensive line who comes across to attempt to cover the play and doesn't give up.
The try in the 55th minute looks like Douhi only has eyes for Frizell and doesn't see how deep the attackers are standing or that Ponga is lurking around the back. Galvin has Frizell covered again and Douhi is left in no man's land and its 3 on 1 for Alaimalo. To top it off, Douhi stops in the line and has no urgency to get back.
Part of my issue is that Benji should have taken him aside at half time and told him to slide rather than jam in. Since he kept doing it in the second half, I can only assume that either Benji said nothing to him, ir he ignored the direction.
Sorry for the long post. Had to get it off my chest.
Even worse with Doueihi - when he actually is in a position to make a tackle - he is as useless as a Hills Hoist in strong winds...I have to agree with this. That was my take during the live game. really? There is literally zero precedent of a coach being sacked early in his first year. That’s a muppet post.
