Salary Cap Bottom Line

What's happened with Galvin has happened plenty of times before. This not a Galvin thread.

Moses, Aloiai, Matterson, Galvin etc all used the mental health cards to get an upgrade elsewhere.

This happens a lot to us, but has happened to many other clubs too. F Molo being another example this year.

I truly believe that in order for clubs to get compensated for developing talent, there should be a give and take.

If we sign a player for $200k for 2 years and they sign elsewhere for $500k for the second year, we should have $300k added to our cap.

This will encourage clubs to
  • develop talent
  • invest in better coaches
  • be compensated for their work
I am sure there would be issues with this sytem, but what would they be?

Appreciate people's thoughts on this.
