Sandor Earl interview about to start

Interesting to hear Ings say that if Earl ratted on other stars his sentence would be cut by 3/4\. That is a huge reduction yet the bloke still hasnt named names. So either he is the most loyal character ever or Dank and co truly treated this like some sort of covert operation. With the amount of stars from the NRL and the AFL implicated so far, it seems hard to believe that no other names were ever spoken of.

worst year for NRL that I can remember.

if South Sydney win it will be a shame because there is a chance their historic win is overshadowed by so many controversies that have happened throughout the year.

It seems he has heard stories and knows names but won't mention them.

Sandor made it pretty clear he has no evidence to incriminate another NRL player. Ings statement again showed he did not listen to the evidence given. Overall the NRL will cut a deal to protect the clubs, especially Manly and poor Sandor and others will be wiped out of the game.

My opinion is the clubs should be held responsible.

He may have no direct evidence , but I'll bet he will have told ASADA whatever he has heard

They didn't grab Watmong's or G Train's phones by accident

Despite the **** year, the finals have been one of the most enjoyable for me excluding any the tigers were a part of. Dunno why, just found a lot of thrilling matches like the Manly Sharks and Manly Roosters.

it sounds like the doctors and the clubs should be held responsible rather than the players. Earl handled himself really well. Kid surprised me. Good on him for speaking up.

Surely clubs and doctors have a duty of care

it's amazing in the aftermath how no one on the "panel" criticized the club.. The club employed dank as a consultant, Earl was introduced to Dank via the club, the costs of Earls treatment were sent to the club…. Yet amazingly no one was critical of Penriths role in Earls case.. If I were Earl I'd be suing the pants off Penrith for failing in their duty of care!!!

Gee I wonder why ….. Whos the boss of Penrith ??

One if the biggest things that didn't add up for me was the bills for the injections that were sent to Penrith. Penrith would've known about all out of club injections. The club has clearly failed to ask questions about Dank's program and certainly knew what was going on.

I always thought Earl was a bit of a clown, but his interview came across as extremely honest. I believe the guy. The comments of him feeling sick and "why didn't this set off alarm bells?" is rubbish, I'm quitting smoking and the patches are making me nautious, but I trust the program because it's worked for others, clearly this is a similar thing to what Earl believed. Two doctors have said it is legal and we can help you, what would the common man do? When you go to a doctor (especially one employed for his services to assist with rehab) of course you believe they are doing the best for you.

If you had an injury and a trusted doctor said we can help you get better faster with this substance, and assured you it was legal. How many more questions "SHOULD" you have to ask?

Totally agree…Earl came across very much as an innocent victim of being misled....Those who brought Earl to the Cub are culpable in my opinion....but they and the club will get away scot free while the players will be crucified...I hope Earl gets a reduced sentence then joins the Tigers...he seems like a decent guy....nothing like a Dugan and his buddies

I've only read the article about the interview. I just can't watch the Footy Show.
Seems he feels he was misled but also seems to be accepting responsibility for allowing that to happen. Kudos to him for being accountable.

A very predictable response from Dank. It would be quicker for him to tell us who he isn't suing.

Earl knew what he was doing. Decent guy  His the last bloke we need at the club.

This is just a general comment about performance enhancing drug usage, so long as you are aware of the risks and not taking something for animals, you should be allowed to take whatever you want in order to return from long term injuries as quick as possible (with approval from the NRL). The kid had a double shoulder reconstruction and conventional treatment was not working and/or painfully slow. To be slapped with 4 years for usage and trafficking is a joke. I hope it gets downgraded to one year and he is back playing ASAP.

This is a person's livelihood. If a tradesman had the same injury and could be back working in 3 months rather than 4 or 5 months, they would do the same thing.

Wasn't farah talking about how easy it would be to get done in for drugs due to the amount of supps the docs give to the players and just tell them to take them? feel for the kid…

Is it a sad story? Probably.

Do I feel sorry for him? No.

Bottom line is every athlete has a responsibility to known what they are putting in their body. There are hotlines in place to check on any supplement if any player is unsure.

It is their livelihood. One would think this would make them more cautious and have greater knowledge about what they put in their body then they apparently do.

NRL is utter bush league in this respect.

I'd have to listen to the interview but my understanding is Penrith as a club played no significant role in what Earl was doing. Based on my understanding of things, Earl was pretty much a lone operator out there. Other clubs have a more widespread issue and not just Cronulla.

Very well spoken and I honestly believe everything he said.

Doctors have a much higher responsibility and duty of care and if all of what sandor said is true both dank and kahn should be de-registered as doctors.

Will be interesting to see how dank responds.

Dank isn't a doctor. He's barely qualified to hand out nutritional suppliments.

Smeg,

Do you remember Robbie Farah saying something about a milkshake he was just given to drink, he accepted he didnt really know what was in it but the club people told him it's ok and drink it ?

He did this. The players need to feel they can trust the doctors and specialists around them. De-registering the quacks for administering the supplements and other things is the solution. Players ask questions, but might not be given the right answers.

I also feel a lot of the responsibility needs to be shouldered by the clubs.

So you don't think Yoss that Earl wouldn't have told ASADA any rumours he had heard ,even if it was second hand info

He gets a 80 percent reduction if he can supply any info that leads to any other drug cheats

I reckon he will have told ASADA about any rumours , he just said that on TV to cover his arse in case he was wrong
