SBW to remain a Rooster in 2014!

Just because a person has been gifted with a certain ability does not necessarily make him a better person.

I haven't made up my mind about sonny yet but i dislike the term "gifted athlete"

It's like god gave them the talent which is untrue IMO. Most of these so called gifted players get into sports from a very young age and train very hard from a young age to earn the talent. Gifted is a bad choice of word IMO.

"Natural talent"

Some kids just have 'it'….some dont go on with it, others learn it, develop it

Plenty of kids start young and play for years and stay 'amateur/park/casual' sportspeople

Great we get to endure another whole season of SBW wankfest on Channel 9 :unamused:

My thoughts exactly!

Some people do 'just have it' but even fewer truly use that potential. Talent is what turns average reserve graders who bust their heart out each week into superstars who also bust their heart out.

For those using words such as "respect, gratitude and professionalism" to describe SBW in 2013 could you please back this up with why you believe this to be so?

I feel that his treatment of selection in the NZ squad and timing of his decision about what to do in 2014 both go against this.

He's pretty good at putting the whole 'I'm so grateful for my opportunities' thing on for the camera. He certainly doesn't come off as egotistical in interviews or anything, but his actions beg to differ.

In all honesty, I couldn't care less about what his personality was like. He's a footballer, not someone I know in real life. As long as he doesn't commit any crimes, he can be the biggest tool in the world for all I care

Hehehe its hard not tarnish, but lets have a guess at the 5 Bulldogs players insuiated in the trip away group thingo…

Its not hard when you look at the players sent away from the club soon after, easy to make the group. Sources in colour back my understanding.

skip to 0:40 to avoid the SBW circlejerk, obviously not SBW's fault, benji had the same treatment a few years ago.

Look you have to give it to the bloke

He has won back to back to back titles with 3 different sides in different codes and been a standout

I was one of his doubters , but he certainly shoved mine and many others words back down our throats

Whether he could come to the Tigers and turn us into premiership contenders is another matter altogether

If the guy could turn around and win a recognized world heavyweight boxing title he would have to come into contention as one of the greatest modern day sportsmen or women in my era

Who cares ? The guy just walked out on his fans and our code!reappeared as a hero?? To top it off his a Rooster …...I don't care how good he is. I think his been given to much air time :bash

Exactly. and TBH I don't think he deeply regrets what he did, in fact if the opportunity came up it wouldn't surprise me if he did it again.

Don't worry it will only be half the season. The other half will be Burgess brothers

This irks me… I'm not interested in the SBW Show/Drama, but if the rumours are true he is on Channel Nines books for $700k, and Roosters for only $200/220k of there Salary Cap, how can this be approved by the NRL?

Isn't Gyngell a director of the Roosters Leagues Club at Bondi?

It's true. How do you think that they were able to afford SBW, Maloney and Jennings all in a season or so. Anasta must have been in a packet!
It is well know the Rooster Booster Club of Millionaires (Politis, packer, Gyngell , Bouris and others) meet regularly to find ways and pay for off the book player payments
Just what we need!!!

Praise be to Allan!!

SBW is a decent player but the hype regarding his performances in the NRL this season are way overblown. He had a dog of a game in the 1st half of the GF…then made a break and threw a pass that was forward by at least a metre that lead to a try and all of a sudden he is an Immortal in the making. FFS.

Let's all hope that Blake Ferguson follows in the well worn footsteps of Khoder Nasser's troupe of overhyped, over-ego'd wallopers.

Praise be to Allan!

Sorry FTB but the guy was playing another code for a fair few years and then came back and played as though he had never left

I don't like the guy either , but you have to respect him for his obvious talent
