Hey everyone, I'm waiting for my WT m'ship renewal/hat to be delivered by post.
I was advised by WT that there has been significant delays as the hat comes from an Asian country affected by COVID.
It seemed to much of a coincidence that I got a text msg see below.
I didn't open it but instead forwarded to WT accounts for there attention.
WT promptly got back to me saying it's in no way connected to them.
I thought I'd pass this onto WT Forum because some of you might be in the same boat this time of year.
Can someone tell what I should do, just delete it?
Is there some authority I should notify?
***Delivery is delayed: / ; Let us know, if you have already received the package
I've deleted most of the msg website references in case it can comes back to bite me ;]

Scammers are taking advantage of the fact that most of us are covid affected and getting parcels delivered, rather than buying from a bricks and mortar shop. Most parcels are delayed due to covid affecting the delivery and supply chains so this message will seem "real" to a fair portion of recipients.
As stated above, it is a scam and you should NOT click on the links. I suspect it will direct to what is termed "drive-by download" where you visit a site and tracking or keyboard logger or some other malicious item is downloaded to your device.

Next year is our year

Every year is our year.....until it's not.
There wasn't a ride like 2005, until it happened. That magic will never be enjoyed by fans of teams like the Storm or Roosters.
We're building towards that again....

Yeah, hard to get too excited if your team is winning all the time.

Once every 30 or 40 years makes it special.

Shit ill give some Nigerian prince money if we make the 8. Think we all would

I get them all the time. ATO, AFP even the NCA which doesn’t even exist anymore!

I had a great one the other day. Usual spiel from a bloke with a thick Indian accent about some NBN drama. I said this sounds serious, can I call NBN Co back and ask for you?
“Um sure.”
“Okay what’s your name”
“Alan Smith”

I think I laughed for a good 10 seconds before I suggested he should pick a more realistic fake name if he wants to do this.

My fav was my account has been hacked (can't remember if they were claiming to be NBN or microsoft) and they would need to send me something to install. I told them to send straight away and spelt my email address out:
F.U............Y.O.U@hotmail.com.

They were still on the line when I told them that the email still has not come through yet.

My kids now like answering the phone to unrecognised numbers with a dodgy accent.

anyone been buzzed by a certain carrier about prepaid run out ,click here, etc, its dodgy as .bewarned,

I act interested and tell them to hold for a minute so I can get better reception in the house. Then add my local Chinese restaurant to the call and sit back for the LOL’s.

I often get scam phone calls. The latest was from a mobile number 0421 243 577

A lady with a very strong subcontinent accent. They were claiming to be from Telstra and investigating Internet fraud.

Me: Who are you?
Them: I am from Telstra investigating Internet fraud.
Me: oh, OK

Them: "Do you ever give your Internet password to someone else"
Me: Why would I tell you that?

They repeat the question and I repeat my response....
Them: "Do you ever give your Internet password to someone else"
Me: Why would I tell you that?

click: they hung up...

Some of these are just too funny. I must admit I was laughing most of the time...

I don't answer any calls that I don't know, period!
I phone them back if they leave a msg that's not fake.
It requires discipline not to answer in the first instance.
Since I've been doing this I don't get harrassed.
I'd say around 90% of legitimate callers will leave a msg.
