Holy Cross 48 defeated Illawarra 16, just finished but I wasn't there. Chappo will give an update later hopefully on who played well etc.

Luke Brooks was man of the match, being compared by Freddy Fittler as a new Joey Johns.
Tries to Luke Brooks (2), Mitch Moses (2), Chris Moana (2), Brad Deitz, Josh Camroux and Nathan Milone. Brooks 6 goals.
Standouts were Brooks and Moses, Junior Tatola and Chris Moana.

Holy Cross now take on Westfields SH in the deciding pool game next term, possibly at Leichhardt Oval.

Congratulations to Luke Brooks on his MOM award, him and Joey Johns are very similar in the backside department as well as the way they play. Hope to see him up leading the 20's around in the near future.

Anyone know how long Brooks & Moses are contracted for? Hopefully we don't lose these two guys. We really have a good group of juniors coming through the grades & everyone that has been responsible deserves a big pat on the back.

I would say until they are 20 but not 100% on that. There is approximately 5-6 players from the SG Ball who were signed for 2013 & 2014.

Thanks Flash, I know we can't keep them all & it's inevitable that some will go for more money or a better chance at FG. P.S you don't know by any chance if Micheal Kai from the 20's is still with us? I was O.S for a couple of months & I'm not sure if I missed any announcement about if he's been released or is still with us. Thanks

Gonna be televised?

Yes in due course, although Channel 9 haven't advised when yet.

This was the side yesterday, a few positional changes which appeared to work rather well
1: M Moses
2: J Camroux
3: R Armstrong
4: N Milone
5: C Moana
6: B Sironen
7: L Brooks
8: F Tatola
9: B Deitz
10: J Siddle
11: M Woods
12: J Tatola
13: A Kazzi
14: N Bell
15: S Marketo
16: D Siddle
17: D Clifford

Bayley Sironen pushes Mitch Moses out his favoured position? Interesting… I hear Moses has some defensive issues so maybe his future is at fullback?

It was not a case Mitchell having defensive issues it was because of the regular Fullback having suspect handling, to to strengthen the team ovearall it was the best way to go.

I was told Moses made a stack of missed tackles in the 18's Origin.

You don't win competitions if you can't tackle. Mitchell could do with a few more kilos but he is a good defender, unfortunately people do like to make assumptions Billy Slater can't catch either!!

Agreed. Every time teams attempted to run traffic his way in the SG Ball competition (notably against the Central Coast, Manly and Canberra) he stood up and did his job very well. In particular the Sea Eagles had a massive second-rower who continued to pick him out, but he contained him quite well for the size difference, and then proved vital in attack as well.

In saying that, he could be a very good fullback.
