How good was this guy in 2005?
How good was it having a dominant no 7 and a top class no 1.

It was good but your not telling us something new. Are you comparing 2005 to 2013? Are you saying we should try and get those players back? Sorry if i sound confused but what is the point of this thread? I hope our 7 and 1 are better in 2013 and prob have the potential to be better.

Ah 2005, remember it well, I was a younger and better looking back then. Mmmmmm

He was pretty good. Is there otherwise a point to this thread?

Some harsh responses.
How can you not see the point of this thread? It's about Scott Prince's time here at the Tigers.

By far the best halfback we have ever had and imo the reason we won the premiership in 2005.
As with Cronk and Thurston he made players around him play even better. His partnership with Benji was absolutely phenomenal. Hopefully if Miller is given the 7 jersey this year with the opportunity to prove himself and string games together without being dropped/injured he can do something similar.

Scotty Prince was a bloody good Halfback… Had control, he was a real competitor, and always knew when to go to the line.

He is a prick now he left us, but from an NRL perspective, Adam Reynolds is probably the only other Halfback the NRL has seen for a while...

I reckon he will go well for Brisbane at 7 and Wallace at 6!

Yes, he was crucial in helping us to win in 2005, but his form in 2006 was a mere shadow of 2005…

That Cronk fella seems to go ok Watto as a genuine 7

Cronk is a weird Halfback… I wouldnt say 'genuine' but as you mentioned, he is very handy at controlling play and knowing when to go to the line. He runs like a backrower sometimes?!

IMO Cronk has really been massaged and worked into what he is today. Still a very good 7 but not what you would call a "genuine halfback" in the context of talking about Prince etc.

Cronk spent quite a few years simply being adequate for the huge stars playing around him.

So did Tommy and Mark Murray Watto and they were handy half backs as well

These Mexicans used to really underrate Mark Murray as a player , what do you think ??

Thats Easy… If Mark Murray didnt injure his eye, it would of been Peter [Sterling] Who?

Good Point though… Tommy and Mark were both pretty bullish Halfbacks.

Just think Watto under current SOO rules Sterlo would of played for us

If that had been the case NSW wouldn't have won a series until about 1990

How is he not a genuine half, he is a textbook half!

When they teach kids to be a half they try teach them to play exactly like cooper. Organise the game, ball play, kick and take the line on from time to time.

Id love those saying he is not a half to explain why

Thats the game although modern defence structures don't give them the space they used to have in the past so its difficult to excell. There was a lot of resistance to him joining the Tiges but he made the detractors change tune very quickly(insert Benny's name here).Scott Prince is my Porn name(Street,Dog) so i was very happy to see him join and thought it was an omen and i was right, made enough $ on FootyTab when they started their surge to the finals to buy a new car.
