Scotty Prince unwanted at Titans!

I have taken great pleasure in watching the Schoolies capitulate this year. I'd rather Prince stick around there until he retires to make that ill-fated move to the Gold Coast a complete failure.

Treated the club and fans with no respect and then once his future was secured, played like an absolute busted.

his best play since leavin the tigers was when wendal asked him about about his new house and he replyed something like at least my house hasnt got white lines in it :roll
yes i would have him back players play better when their around mates

Benji and Scotty are probably still good mates, but for some reason I think their ego's would clash if they were on the same team again.

haha brothers in arms

Did anyone at the Titans game this year see Prince shoulder Benji as he ran out for the second half? Benji was just standing waiting to take the kickoff and Prince made sure he didnt miss him. Benji was not impressed and they exchanged a few words throughout the second half…

Dudes,

Please, this is hardly a scoop. Word of this hit the streets before the comp started this year. WT were first to make contact and I can tell you for a fact that they entered brief negotiations back then. But the big problem is this. The Gold Coast owe Prince a lot of money. Money from the past that he was promised and huge money in the next 3 seasons. Mick Searle, goodluck old son.

Talk of a year or two in Sydney is not out of the question according to the feedback so far.

The Gold Coast will Fold within 3 years. There are serious problems happening up their which we will hear about in the next few months.

Bug,,,,is this speculation on your behalf or do you have some inside knowledge?

Bug is on the mark with this one The Gayfl team the Suns is already outdrawing the Titans crowds and the rumours that that Titans were in a financial mess last season were closer to the mark than they were letting on Three years is probably a bit soon but 5 years definitely I will be surprised to see the Titans still standing unless they get bailed out by NRL or a benefactor

Simply his talent is outweighed by his liabilities now.

He is the exact reason the Titans are failing on field. Too old, past his prime and overpaid.

We have made the mistake before over paying too much for players past their prime.

He has a great legacy of success on field for us, if he comes back he will be nothing more than a paycheque niff nuff along the lines of Nick Graham

The NRL wont let it fold, but I highly doubt this will happen either way. I've heard a few offers have been made to buy the Club, but Searlie and a few of his old war-horses are too stubborn to let go of control.

The Titans will be fine if they 1: Get a fulltime CEO who wants to drive the product without emotion and 2: Get new funding from an external party…

(Palmer would buy the Club tomorrow and pay big overs!!!)

Reasons one, two, three, four and five why we won't sign him are "there isn't enough money" - I'm not sure if anyone recalls but two months ago we had half the squad on the block to free up cap room for Adam Blair. Not sure where we'd suddenly find an extra $500,000 a year (minimum) from unless we're planning to play with no forwards next year,

After those five reasons come the other concerns about whether he'd be worth what we'd have to pay him, whether _another_ playmaker is a worthwhile use of resources, his injury record, whether he's on the down side of his career, what we'd do with the other two potentially very good half backs we already own and whether he'd move back to Sydney anyway.

So yeah, I'm gonna say this one doesn't have legs.

The words Nick Graham should be banned and punishable from this forum . Only time I have seen an NRL player step out of the way of a player running at him in 56-0 flogging from Saints .Along with Ryan O'Hara the worst signing ever for the Tigers If we sign Prince he would be the third

Said it before, But I don't mind saying it again…
Prince has done NOTHING since he left the Tigers (Had Benji outside him) or before he got there TBH.
Benji has gone on to win a world cup, 4 Nations, Golden Boot... And has 5 or so years to get to the age Prince is at now.
He done the wrong thing by our club in his re-negotiating etc. (Those who know, Know!!) Used us as a Barter Card to secure his future in QLD... And played 2006 with No Pride in our Colours.... Going through the Motions to keep himself in good stead for his 2007 Campaign!!
Some people say we wouldn't have won 2005 without him, I prefer to say we wouldn't have won it without Benji, Big Patty, Benny Galea and Tim Sheens and the like!! He was a small part of what was special about that year IMHO
And has gone on to prove me correct by doing absolutely nothing special since.

surely there's no way the NRL would let the Titans fold? the aerial ping pong crowd would just go on an on about it

No sorry. The Tigers gave him a life line when no one else wanted him, gave him a career and a Premiership and as soon as a supposed better deal came along he was gone…. pussywhipped as well. Glad to say ever since he left you can count the good games he has had on one hand - their is a reason why he never gets a run in the QLD SOO team!!

Wonder if the Broncos is an option for Prince with Lockyer retiring and Wallace stating he wants first shot at the 6 jersey for the Broncos Don't think Broncos or Griffin are that stupid though

NRL will NOT let the titans fold, no matter what, the suns are a huge presence up here now due to the influx of supporters from the southern states, the back pages of the local papers are more often than not filled with AFL now, rugby league needs a presence up here more than ever. As for Scott Prince, he and his family are very happy on the coast and as far as I know, he is still held in high regard by the club and supporters alike, and you wouldn't meet a nicer bloke off the field, so I can't see him going anywhere unless he wants to earn some big money overseas.

May explain why Searle was so keen to see the IC start up. More money back into the Schoolies coffers to fix their debt issues.

WOW that is a surprise….the Titans supposedly had the "perfect business model" and were hailed as the Glamour club with perfect training facilities, sponsorships coming out of their pockets....they had the whole Gold Coast to themselves....what's happened?...

Couldn't give a stuff about the Titans. As for Prince - no thanks. Sure he played a huge part in '05 but our future is looking bright with Lui and Miller - no time to look back.

It's a curious case.

The Suns and Titans have underperformed this year, and yet the Suns drawing bigger crowds. The Titans have been a mainstay in the finals series for the last couple of years and were one game off the grand final last year.

The novelty of the Suns being the new thing on the Gold Coast may wear off, but I find it pretty disturbing now that it looks to be three Gold Coast League franchises that look to be gone to the wall (Seagulls, Chargers & now possibly the Titans.)
