If only there was a head shaking option… And he was in line to be our first grade fullback at one stage!!

Be fair…he's an amateur who has tried VERY hard all season.

Guys who were calling for him and Josh Lewis to play NRL obviously never saw them play all year, they are clearly several levels below.

But they try hard and get paid basically nothing...so don't be too harsh.

C'mon guys, he, like everyone else, tried their guts out. The other mob were twice their size with tons of F/G experience and our boys held them until Ben Barba did his thing. Let's appreciate that they showed nothing much and if it hadn't been for Barba's intercepts we'd have been right in it. Well done BRET, you can hold your heads up high and look forward to next year.

So those judging have seen every game of his?

What about the fact he made over 300 metres in attack last week against the Bears?

Look I'm sure both he and Josh Lewis had great years but they had Barry Crockers yesterday. Also I did write the original post at half time!!

Anyway I do think the boys did exceptionally well to reach the GF and Bankstown were always going to be extremely difficult to beat. It's a shame it didn't work out the best for them yesterday.

Balmain Ryde-Eastwood 2009 Best Back of the Year Award - Sean Meaney

You blokes crack me up..

Yeah im pretty sure the game he played in the grand final, nailed it for him..

Meaney shouldn't be judged on that grand final, it was one game and against a team full of experience above us. It was always going to be a tough game and in all fairness there were no stand outs that day, they all did what they could and it didn't pay off. I am still damn proud of Meaney and the rest of the boys for getting there against so many odds.

Meaney is talented and I really think more people should get out to games and watch the boys play before judging them too harshly after only seeing a handful of games.
