Season 2024 - Round 2 Team

1. Bula
2. Lobb
3. Olam/Faatape (if Olam is broken)
4. To’a
5. Staines
6. Galvin
7. Sezer
8. Stef
9. Api
10. Klemmer
11. Ice
12. Bateman
13. Seyfarth (would like to see Galvin here but too early IMO)

14. Sullivan
15. Pole
16. Twal
17. Samuela Fainu

Wish Latu played a trial.

Need to pick a lane with Galvin. He’s either a lock or a 5/8.

Need to pick a lane with Galvin. He’s either a lock or a 5/8.
I think lock but he’s better off learning that in NSW Cup until he learns the role. However, Sullivan is not up to it and no idea where Fainu is so he’s also needed at 6.

It depends where Benji sees him. If it was me I would do the former. I hope he doesn’t end up like Curtis Sironen who IMO was moved to the back row too late.

could sezer play 13 ?
7. Fainu
6. Galvin
13. Sezer

I know defensively it is tough but he would add another option in attack

I don't want Sullivan anywhere near first grade

At this point in the season and from what we have seen in the trials my team for round 2 would be:

Bula
Staines
Toa
Olam (only if 100% fit)
Tupou
Sullivan
Sezer
Uto
Api
Twal
Paps
Bateman
Pole

Galvin
Klem
Sam Fainu
Kepaoa

Guys who need to develop some more or gain match fitness, but who are realistic options to take a spot in the above 17 are:
L Fainu
Naden
Seyfarth
Lobb
Faataape

IMO Everyone else needs much more time in Reggies if they are ever going to make the step up.

Why do we need to pick a lane right now? I don't see the rush. He is a 6 but there is no issue keeping an open mind IMO.
Looks a first grade halves talent and they aren’t very common. His development needs to be in the halves starting yesterday. Other clubs will have him in their black book.

I think I can get 17 blokes from local at the cattle dog , who could do a better job even after a Saturday on the grog

My team
1.Bula
2.Staines
3.Olam
4.Toa
5.Lobb
6.Sullivan
7.Sezer
8.Utoikimano
9.Korisau
10.Klemmer
11.Papalii
12.Bateman
13.Pole
Bench :Galvin,Seyfarth ,Sam Fainu ,Twal 18th Tupou

Right now, if I picked it today:

1. Bula
2. Tupou
3. Olam (Fitness dependent)
4. Naden
5. To'a
6. Sullivan
7. Sezar
13. Seyfarth
12. Bateman
11. Papali'i
10. Klemmer
9. Api
8. Utoikamanu

14. Simpkin
15. Twal
16. Pole
17. Kepaoa

I'd have Galvin, Lobb & Sam Fainu in the wings as the likely early replacements. If Latu Fainu plays reserves & goes well- Sullivan might have the shortest leash in the team. If Olam is out- Lobb on the wing & To'a into the centres probably. If there are any injuries to Papali'i or Bateman- Sam Fainu should leapfrog into the starting role over AJ, who holds versatility value on the bench.

I could be convinced that Faatape could play in place of To'a or Olam (injury replacement) as well.

While I'm sure there are development needs, he provides a direct running style that we don't necessarily have. He brings something to the table, and therefore gets consideration.
