I think you’re overlooking when, how and by whom these cultural failings began.
Where hard work was optional, consistency non existent and the players get to do whatever they want…
 
No one is buying what we are selling anymore for good reason. They don't have to - cause good players have plenty of options and everything we try to sell - we self sabotage.
Always said Benjis fate is sealed by his win loss ratio like all coaches but the options for this club become less with each failure.
Some of the current squad - rate them or not -bought into the Benji/ Richardson vision not sure when they are gone who or what can sell this club.
I see names thrown up by people that could fill the role but the club is an immediate handbrake for all coaches - it's not a situation that coaches can see success at and it's becoming more ingrained.

if Latu and Javon can make some sort of impact next year in the halves than you may see coaches lining up to take the reins. No coach wants to come into a club that is a complete mess and especially lacking quality in the spine, however that could change fairly quickly if they see significant upside.
 
In the end result, if Benji remains pig headed with the support team around him and team selections, he is making the club act against him. Next year will be the decider. This year has shown our continual lack of structure, tactics and general footy iq. This has to be fixed. If not Benji, someone else.

On what planet is that true ? Did they have thier star half get his head turned to go to png? Did they at one point have something like 7 of thier 8 best players not playing , did they have the supposed heir apparent of the club , Have a dummy spit and torpedo the back half of the comp ?
And really the expectation based on last year was that was a top 8 side . Many had Ryles as coach of the year .
Take your hate goggles off and actually play the balls in front of you . Is our attack shit , yes … is our defence improving but inconsistent … very yes .
But I don’t even know why we call the head coach the head coach anymore , that role is 💯 closer to a football manager than a head coach .
I think we need better assistants , I also think we got absolutely screwed by the draw . We had to redline early , because we missed the jump 2 years before , and then when we got all our injuries because of it … the nrl decided to put our 2nd bye in the 3rd last week of the comp . You can say that’s bullshit , or excuse making , which to a degree I’d agree with you , you gotta play the hand your dealt , but Jesus what a shitty hand it was .
Compare that with teams like the roosters who go 8 weeks bye , 8 weeks ,bye …. Much easier to maintain .
The nrl is bullshit , it’s corrupt AF . Watch the bears get a billion wtf calls next year because the nrl needs it to be successful . And they can blame AI for the draw , but seriously , straight away AI spits out a draw where one of the tigers or titans has a round 1 bye and your saying do it again . We all know why e for the bye , because Richo rejected Vegas .
Anyways I digress . I think you’re on one with this whole parra have had it harder nonsense .
 
I still find it hilarious that everyone thinking another coach will fix us, when 15 years of no finals shows that the problem lies beyond just the coach. When you’ve had 2 premiership winning coaches coach your team and still don’t make the finals clearly there’s issues that go beyond, yet everyone seems to think a new coach will fix us 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. I do think Benji needs help no argument there, but if anyone expects a new coach to make us finals bound you’re in for another sad experience.

I feel for Benji as I would have loved to see how we actually would have gone if we didn’t pick up the injuries , if we were able to keep the same team on the field each week , first 7 weeks we were very solid in defence and attack , yes attack close in was still and issue but generally we were good , the injuries and a weak reserve grade bunch of players was also a contributor, once we lost May Jnr , Sam f , KPP , Hunt , API , it was way to much to handle we had no solid back up players and the pressure on the rest was to much , they simply didn’t handle it and our coaches didn’t get them up for games , we lost games that were 100% winnable , probably 3 games , that’s 6 points alone , but Benji needs to look back on selections / Position/ some were very odd , poor to be more direct , he will need a few more new players added to cover the same issue that can happen agin in 27 , injuries , so far Centre and Hooker are covered , pending Hunt and Bunty he needs to go shopping for props and back rowers , we loose Luai - Geyer , Kit L , Luke L , Hope , Skelton , and probably a few more so he needs to pull a finger out asap , we don’t want what’s left over in pre season

His selections for, and use of, the bench is very weird / questionable in the modern, fast game.

In what world can you say our defence is improving?
 
Backing Benji. We need more big strong middle forwards, and an actual half back - the positions that help you win, before any off field changes occur.

I disagree because we need off field changes to happen so on field changes can happen without constant stupidity from our pathetic destructive owners.Sadly it is all a cycle of failure that HBG continually deliver for our club.
As Jack Gibson always maintained and it is reflected in professional sport all over the world "Winning starts off the field"
