@ said:It was a bit of tongue in cheek really but our recruitment at the moment is basically islanders. Our team next year could possibly outdo the warriors for islander participation. Am I right??

@ said:I remember in the darkest days of the lowest points of the Balmain Tigers (and the Sydney Tigers ..shudder..) I was a voting member of BDRLFC and every year at the AGM (pre interwebs) they would roll out the new signings for next year to try to give us some hope. I remember at one of these AGMS they announced Tyran Smith and I remember compared to everyone else he was huge. like a head bigger than everyone else and the only polynesian in the team. I remember at the time thinking that we need more polynesians in the team.
Turns out Tyran was rubbish and did nothing but I think the next year we bought Solomon Haumono and I was further convinced that this was the direction the club needed to go. Big Solo could have been anything IMO but the Tigers he was nothing unfortunately, his head wasnt in it.
These days Polynesians dominate the NRL, they are naturally big & fast which is 80% of the game these days. More the better IMO.
